Off to Vegas

Well, tomorrow Gita and I are off to Vegas for a Tae Kwon Do (sic) tournament.

I have only been going about four moinths but my wife has been at it for about 2 years and is looking forward to beating on some poor American girls j/k

Seriously though, many off you have seen my wife, and at a very athletic 6 foot tall, she has not been able to find "competition" in her age bracket at local events so we are off to "Nationals".

Pretty exciting to be honest I would like to brag that my wife is very good so we are interested to see how she compares at a bigger event.

PS: NEVER p**s her off. She is very anxious to use her skills and walks down darkened alleys in New West LOOKING for trouble LOL The only reason I started was to be able to defend myself

Very cool I hope she kicks some American ***!

You MUST catch a major show when you're down there. Blue Man at the Luxor is incredible.

Also, ride the coaster at New York, New York. It's the best damn roller coaster I've ever been on.

Payam

Back Sunday afternoon.

BUT, I'm also away the next week at a hockey tourny for Shamus.

You want to come during the week?

I can tee something up for you with getting access to the house with Gita.

Never did that one, although I did go on the Big Shot at the Stratosphere... that was very cool. I see they have a new ride up there too... the X Scream.

Have a fun trip!
I've always wanted to go down there.
But tell her to be careful out there. Sure she can have some crazy skills, but sometimes fights go down unexplainable. I watched this one Italian dude my size (5'9, no more than 150 soaking wet) knock down 2 guys who were black belts. He just fought alot around commercial, I guess?
Good luck, and when's SEMA?

Well, my wife basically lived up to the billing. She comfortably won her sparring section. She came second in her "Forms" - a routine -but she made 2 small mistakes which is extremely rare, and would otherwise have been first at that as well. None-the-less, I'm extremely proud of her.

Unfortunately I did not rise to the challenge. Loosing to a better competitor is something one can except, unfortunately I did NOT do the best I could and was very disappointed at my performance. Although I won 3rd in "one-steps" I was confident that had I successfully demostrated my best I would have had significantly better results.

Live and learn but man it burns me up.

Also, my wife has had enough wins to almost certainly have achieved the title of "Canada Champ" - based on points at her age and belt level - and will have the opportunity to compete in Arkansas in June for the title of World Champ although we are not yet committed to going.

Pretty cool hey.

We then went to Studio 54 at the MGM and had a BALL. Did some gambling and made couple hundred at the craps tables.
