Driveshaft Shops???

Would it be cheaper to get a new aluminum DS made to my specs? or get my current steel one shortend to the specs i need?

Any good shops local?

Also what price differenece new custom length Alum DS'

so they would cut to my specs? is that a good price, and thats what in canadian funds?

400 bucks? + shipping...

wonder if i can get something local for that quality and price maybe less.

It is going to a lot cheaper to have your steel shortened.
Going price seems to be 50-75 cdn to shorten and the same for balancing.
Shops that will touch aluminum in the lower mainland are few and far.
Expect to pay 400-500 cdn depending on diameter.

For steel I have had reasonable success with
Coast Powertrain
Drive Products
Danco
I am sure there are more that are reputable.

I am having Pat’s in Port Kells work on a thin wall (.065) aluminum shaft right now and the jury is still out.
They apparently do .120 wall aluminum shafts all the time.

well as it is, i wouldn't mind paying 400 / 500 bucks for a alum DS if its not going to take a dump on me... I want quality... but I don't car much for the weight of steel.

i've had work done at drive products in port kells and everytime i leave their shop happy and will always go back there ...

I had them shorted, balance and install new u-joints for my capri's shaft for around $150 all in the same day.

They also do custom fab auminum DS's end to end for around $400. Much cheaper if you bring the parts you want to use

well i can get all the extras, like yokes and joints though work for nothing really...

just need to get a good DS built... after ordering my custom parts ill need for my little project *which atm i would rather keep under the cover for now* ill see how much money ill have to play with.
