At a crossroads..

Well, I think it's almost time to move on. I own a 1988 Camaro Sport Coupe with the 305 TBI engine and 4 speed auto. Yeah, nothing flashy but it was one of the nicer cars in high school. Anyways, I JUST hit the 200,000 kms plateau (I drive to Richmond from Langley now) and am planning on buying a new car this summer.

My price range is around 12,500-15,000 since I'll be taking out a loan. I'm well aware the insurance is going to kill me (I'll be 19), but it'll all be worth it. Does anyone know if I could somehow manage to get a 98 Z28 with an LS1 for that price range? I saw a couple in the buy 'n' sell for around 16000, which gave me hope. Realistically, I was looking at a 95-97 Z with low km's, preferably garage kept with the 6 speed transmission. What do you guys think would be the best car for me to strive towards in that price range?

Welcome to the board.

You can likely find a 98 for 15000 if you look hard enough and are a good wheeler dealer......it may not be all that you asked for - it'll probably have a load of KM on it and possibly an accident.

That price could get you into a 95 - 97 Z28 that has been taken care of decently.

My car is for sale.
It's a tad more than you stated for your price range though......

you could probably get an LT1 car (93-97) in better shape and have some money left over to mod it .. but then again the LS1 cars are a much better platform to mod on

and if ur looking into 98+ .. look for TransAms .. i dont like the look of the 98+ camaros .. catfish
