Adjustable Shocks... help!

I need to lower my car sooner or later, to give it a bit more of 'quality handling'.

I have a question and need your guys opinion... I do not know too much about shocks, but I know that my mechanic recommended I look for adjustable ones. I called Mopac and also Lordco and of course they told me the 200 dollar a piece shocks are the best..

Are there any adjustable shocks that are like 50-100 bucks each that will fit fine on my bird?

Thanks

Koni single ajustable are what Im going to run . I spent some time talking to Sam Strano and alot in the autocross and road race forums and there an awsome performance shock for around town / autocross use etc . You can get revalved bilsteins but if you swap your springs your going to need a revalve again which is more $$ . There about 1100 from mopac , 730 usd plus shipping from www.stranoparts.com which is very reasonable when you consider the shocks are the most important part, and are by far the weakest link in the f body suspension .

You could go cheap with adjustable KYB's ..... but I have not heard great comments on them. Might sell my Suspension Tech springs ( 1.2/1.7 drop ) if you are not in a rush ( I'm waiting on Bistein's )

Guys do not fool your selfs on the QA1 stuff! It is NOT just a drag race setup

Unless you are doing Track days the QA1s are perfect. Last time I went out on my QA1s it took a seasoned every race driver on races rubber to beat me on my street tires

I am running a stock front sway bar and a 25mm rear. QA1 springs front and stock in the rear. front shocks on 11 and rears on 6.

It was down right controlable at full tilt in the corners. I could go in ***** out and the car wouls tart a full four wheel push under heavy Throttle. all you had to do was push till then and lift some to keep your line

I was VERY happy and VERY supried!

Just think I have a new set of Nitto 555RIIs coming for this season

kyb agx shocks

Hi silicuda
After hearing what people say about kyb I am afraid to say I have them on my94 z28. Although I drive my car an average of 4000KM/YR, I have had no problem with them. In fact I think they are quite kick ***!!!! When I fly up the Slocan Valley on a summer morning to the Blue Moon Saloon I pull some pretty good g's. You really don't know what its like to own a Camaro until you have lived it the Kootenays. Getting back to earth, if you drop your car more than 1.5" will it affect any warranty on your shock. Also consider the price of the install and alignment. I once read an article on a few tuner F-bodies and the best g's were on Konis and nothing else. No springs, bars, control arms, etc. I did not want to pay for Koni so I got KYB. Also consider the weight of your car. Try the Tire Rack or Year One for KYB.
My mods are-Firehawks 275's on Sabler 17''C.L. Hurst Shifter, Home Made Ram Air, K&N Filter Charger, Air Foil, Removed MAF screen, Gold Race Rocker Arms, Hypertec Power Programer, y-pipe, cat ?, Edelbrock cat back, strut tower brace, 5 point frame connectors, Harness bar with 5 point harness, KYB AGX Shocks. Hawk pads, Ford Dot 3 brake fluid.
THUS A GREAT CAR FOR THE KOOTENAYS.
P.S. Any boby else from my area. I do PDR and paint touchup????
