additional fuel gauge

ok, well since there is already a gauge pod in my car, sitting there with a boost gauge in it (havent taken it out since i bought the car), i wanna know if i can switch this with a secondary fuel gauge, and what the wiring will entail. (my current fuel gauge is annoying, takes 5 bucks to fill up the first 3 quarters then another 35 for the rest, and it goes WAY past the full line.

if you put a aftermaket gauge in will it not read the same as your stock gauge? The gauge gets its info from the sending unit in the tank so if you wirer the 2 together it will be getting the same signal. I would check your sending unit and/or the float in you tank to make sure it is not sticking or having some other problem

The potentiometer (variable resistor) in the tank unit provides a matched signal for the gauge unit. Infinite resistance will read max gauge travel toward full. If you 'add' another gauge, the results will be worse than you have now. Of course you could put an 'A/B' switch in too so you can choose which signal to believe!
