I just backed the Durango into a car 2 days ago. My first and only 'at fault' accident ever, but it is bound to happen.

Fortunately a very minor ding but i have 18 years safe driving so I do not get penalized. :-)

we all make mistakes, and luckily it sounds like no one was hurt which is all that really matters in an accident.

Do you have a job? I would suggest getting one, even if it's something that sounds uncool like McDonalds, Safeway, or whatever. Even though the pay may suck you will be building up your resume for future employment. You could also start your own mini-business doing jobs/manual labor for people... get ready to go door-to-door, handing out flyers, etc. if you want to do that.

 

I would say 1500 to 2000 in damage.......atleast your cars not crazy exspensive to fix

 

The damage looks to be within the $1000 mark. Let me know if you need a good body shop. Tell your dad you will work it off - that shows that you have respect and dedication. Regardless of what people say, there are jobs out there for you high-school kids! Look in the paper under the Help Wanted section - if you're old enough to drive then you are old enough to find a relatively decent job.

Did you hit another car?

If not I would recommend not using insurance and just paying it off.... the long-term cost of using insurance combined with the deductible will be much higher then then paying $1500 or so out of pocket right now. This is even more true if whoever insured that car had a discounted rate.

 

Draco is right, definately avoid ICBC paying for the repair, because they will want to jack the rates up so they can earn a profit.

Get a job at the mall, might be minimum wage but beats McDicks and you get to meet all kinds of hot girls

I said I'm looking for a job and I worked 6 years to buy that car that i'm still making payments on. That's right; since i was 10 or 11. I'm emptying out my BANK ACCOUNT to get it back on the road. - new / recycled front facia $$$
- new / recycled front headlamp ( pictures fuzzy looks broken )
- repair or replace front filler panel $$$
- repair or replace front fender ( repair prob but fuzzy pics )
- misc brackets etc behind headlamp / bumper cover , marker lights etc.
- tug the bumper absorber / support back inline if necessary ( I think so )
- paint fender , bumper cover and blend

easy 2000 $$ especially when you factor in there VW parts . . . I wouldnt be to hard on yourself just fix er up , Ive smashed my fare share too

 

My panties are in a wad today for some reason but still, if you're asking for donations you must be really desperate. But I find that hard to believe since you have a car and obviously a computer with internet access. Is it that hard to get a job at mcdonalds nowadays? If you had a job when you were ten you should be able to find one now.

 

i got a job today after being out of work since mid october 2002 man i needed this job so bad
