Greetings all

Just a quick note to say hey to the community. Picking up my 4th F-body next week, a '93 Z-28. Black, Auto, Hardtop. Considering the price though, couldn't pass it up. In the past, I've owned an 86 IROC, an 88 RS, and an 82 Z-28. My Iroc was my favorite, and the best of the three in terms of condition. The RS was a joke, traded to me from a guy who I turned around and gave it BACK to like a week later. Was trashed. My 82 Z was a fun, though obnoxious car. Had a 383 with a T-350, and got a whopping 7-8 mpg lol. Dual straight exhaust out the passenger side, no cat. Was a riot to drive, but, impractical. Sold it to by my bike a few years back.

But, I love my Camaros, and saw this one posted. I had been looking for another 3rd Gen, but this one seems to be in good shape, and runs good. Need to re-clear the passenger fender, patch the drivers seat edge, and replace an exhaust manifold gasket.

Definately looking forward to continuing to browse through the forums, and gather more and more ideas for going forward.

Good to be here!

Hey and welcome to the club. I love my 93. I had 125k before I started on the engine and it still ran like a champ. I only pulled it because of the milage and it was starting with a slight front main seal leak (and a small exhaust leak but that is a long story). In fact when I plasti-guaged the main and rod bearings just to check clearance the old bearings were still well within rebuild limits for minimum clearance you should get with the new bearings and the bores were nice and round and still dead on 4.0 with telescope guage. I kept it running on castrol syntec and ran k&n filters. In fact the only thing I ever had to do was replace the optispark once and anyone familiar with the optispark knows that is to be expected with 100k+. Feel free to take a look at my 93 I posted a few photos of the before and after for the paint and engine in my public profile album. I am sure you will love your new 93.
