1999 Indy 500 Z28
 

I am looking for fellow owners to help me gather as much info about this car as possible. I've been told that this is #9 of 50 and it was used at the speedway. I am very pleased at the care the former owner had taken of her. I have been driving Chevrolets for 30+ years and this is my first Camaro.

I'm sure looking forward to making new friends.

those are called parade cars ! It would be neat to know who actually drove the car around the speedway or drove what driver. I own 2 89 pace cars neither are parade cars. in 89 the wrote a # with a sharpie where the rear lic tag go's not sure if they did this in 99. Awsome car you have

Welcome to the site, Tommy. There was an article in the May 2002 Camaro World magazine about the Festival Cars used at Indy in 1999. If you PM me an email address, I'll send you a pdf copy of the article. Did you get any kind of paperwork with the car, like a Civic Event Plate Application? This would have the VIN of the car and the track number it was assigned. The track number would have also been displayed on the car with a decal in the lower left corner of the windshield and another behind the rear license plate.

The 1999 Indy 500 Festival Cars used were Z28s with exception of one SS which was given to the race winner. This car was for sale a while back in Ohio. From the picture in your avatar, it appears your car could be that car.
