supercharger?

i have a 95 z28 and my friend got a new supercharger for his 03 svt cobra and gave me his stock eaton. Will it work on my Lt1? If so, do i need a lot of modifications to make it work?

Re: supercharger?

Will it work, yes, but at the very least you would need an adapter plate made and some way to drive the charger of the engine (i.e. a new crank pulley to accomodate the blower and accessories). Anything can work if you have the $$$ to make it work.

Quite frankly, it is probably not worth all the hassle for a SC most noted for it's inefficiency (I have a GTP with the M90) between the time/materials to get the thing fabbed up/installed. Hell, to get an M90 on the 3.8 N/A (SE and GT motors) costs a fair chunk of change. You'd think that it's be easier since they have the 3.8 SC (GTP), but it really is not.

It may be an interesting product to fab up and market, but I would never do it (they make plates to put a MP112 (Cobra blower) and Whipple on the GTP's, but the car is already blown so it's a lot easier).

I'd try and sell it to a GP guy (but not me, I am going turbo)

If you have any more questions shoot me a line.

Re: supercharger?

Honestly I don't think it would clear the cowl/windshield. Plus no one ever offered a sit-on-top-of-the-motor supercharger for the 4th Gen, and I think this is why. The Lingenfelter kit for the C5 requires a new hood.
