Well, just figured I would say hi. I recently purchased a 1987 Camaro Z-28 with the 305 in it, 5 speed for $1,500. So I figured I might as well sign up to a forum and get to know some people who have the same car interest as I do. I live in NH and I work at New England Dragway when its open. I am looking for any kind of body mods that would work for my car (nice wings, hood scoops, lights, ground effects) I have tried looking around the net but couldnt find much... If anyone knows of any good places let me know. Also wondering if there is any clubs around here.

welcome to the board! nice to see another 3rd gen around here
I'm not going to be any help as far as "body mods" are concerned since my car has been running around w/ the same crappy paint job since i got it..... i am planning on picking up a cowl hood once the time comes around though
I've only seen one "body kit" for the 3rd gens and its fugly as all hell, there are a few cool hoods out there but I've always been partial to the regular cowl induction ones

Welcome to the NE section, you'll like it here
.... Trying to copy me??
Haha j/k.
I think one of the coolest hoods out there is the "Big Block" series hood made by American Sports Car Design.
It cost alot of $$ though...

Welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!! and since you work and new england dragway you know the guy witht he short hair who has a sweet *** 3rdgen and an older car also he usually does the lanes. i am not sure what mods he has but the license plat is like built 4 speed or something. and as far as the hodd my buddy might be selling his big block hood i could talk to him if you wanted.
Being the Chairman and HC of New England Dyno and Tuning (HC = Head Chef) we are going to schedule a dyno day for 2 weeks (on a Saturday) before the track opens with a rain date of 1 week before the track opens.
As far as the Z goes, I've got a few safety issues to deal with.......
The fuel rail needs to be welded as it leaks (thanks Quest Racing
) and a couple of other little things. I'll get my head out of my *** and get it done and get some dyno numbers in the next few weeks. It just sucks with ****ty weather and all
Oh.....just goes to show you you that you need to check things yourself.
I was cleaning out my Z the other day as **** is eveywhere inside the car as it was a storage locker for 5 months and I decided to put the center section of the wheels back on the car and thought even though Quest Racing told me the wheels were on and good to go I thought I'd check the torque anyway.....well glad I did as three out of ten lug nuts were not tight (2 were finger tight and one was not fully tight)

Yes, I am planning on modding it, once I get it paid off. I just got laid off from my job today so right now it's not looking too good, the guy said he could hold the car for me but not for long because he cant afford the 1,500$ loan on it anymore. Sooo, I have my fingers crossed. But yes, if I do get it, it will be getting modded and it will be at NED this upcoming year. I'll have my dad help me with the mods, since he has alot of experience, donno if you guys have heard of or seen 'The Dirty Rat' its a black 1986 Fiero GT owned by a guy by the handle of Chester, been at ALOT of car shows in mass and NH, I believe it was at carlisle the year before last. If ya have let me know

How would you like to be told "You do not support my business" after you've paid over 2K and after four months your car only runs on 5 cylinders ?
