Wiring Questions

Okay, I included some pictures. I bought this kit and I want to know if these solenoids can handle at most a 150 shot. I am only going to be shooting a 100, but if they can't handle that, I need to know that as well.

- What size relay do I need? It is a wet kit obviously.
- Can I get it at O'Reillys? Or is there better ones at other major stores.

The solenoid positive and ground wires are "Y'd" together if you know what I mean.
- Will this draw too much current through the relay?
- I hook up the window switch to the Tach input cable, and then the two wires that are for the object being turned on and off go on the ground wire as well since they can't handle the amperage....correct??

I know it's a ton of questions, but I am trying to get ready for the season here, and it is crunch time.

Re: Wiring Questions

I'll get you started at least...the NX kit is a great kit. Their wiring instructions are pretty clear. The solenoids should be ran in parallel (y'd together as you put it)....i.e. positives together and negatives together. A single 30A relay will handle them both.

Any auto parts store will carry relays, but I tend to shy away from the cheapo ones. For your application, most will do just fine.

I don't understand your question about the window switch...which brand is it? Some provide 2 contacts, others provide a switched ground (most likely yours if I understood what you're saying). You can always have the window switch run a relay if necessary if it's unable to supply enough current for your application....shouldn't be necessary though, especially if you bought a used kit that was functional.

Good luck - I'd highly recommend you review the NX instructions before proceeding...they have everything you need to know. If you get stuck, don't hesistate to ask though.

Re: Wiring Questions

If you like, I could email you a .5M zip file that has all the sheets from my kit (LT1 wet) included. PM me an email address if you want it.

Yeah, the kit didn't come with any instructions.

The window switch is this one right here: http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...product_id=964

Anyone know how this one hooks up to my wiring?

I'd give nitrous outlet a call and ask them if they will get you a diagram of the wiring for that switch. If you like, I will send you a schematic of how you should hook your nitrous up. Just PM me your email address.
