Using 1 step colder plugs without using nitrous yet?
 

I might be using nitrous in the future.. Im putting some long tubes on my car right now and might as well change the plugs.

Will my car loose some power if i went with a plug that was 1 step colder than whats needed?

What are teh cons to this using this plug while NA?

If i do run nitrous it'd be a 75 shot.

from what ive heard, you shouldnt really notice that much of a difference at all. i already have n2o on my car and will be doing plugs/wires very soon. i asked the same question in fear of loosing power NA for eveyday driving. i will be going with one step cold plugs when i change.

I swapped to Autolite 104s a few months before I ever sprayed and noticed no change from the previous RapidFire #3s.

So, yeah, go ahead, it'll be fine, if you gap it large enough.

You should be just fine. I don't spary all the time just at the track. There will be no problem in NA forum. By the way, I use autolite #104.

running autolite 104s here as well with no known difference. i like them a whole lot better than the TR55s anyway...hate how the tips unscrew!

Youll be fine......go ahead and gap them .038-.040 also.

I'm running Autolite 103's and even they don't make a difference in my NA time. ;)

I notice with the TR6s that my car takes about a minute or two longer to warm up and fire all plugs good.

Other then that not much differance. Just a little more cold blooded with a 234/242 cam ;)

I've had TR6's for 2 yrs. without any spray and haven't noticed any difference.

I haven't put my NX kit in yet or the new plugs (AC Delco R42LTS), but I thought the gap should be .035. So what should the gap be?

Im changing the plugs again tomorrow. i went from the stock platnums, to regular Delcos that i gapped at .055(stock gap .065) for a 75 shot. im spraying 125 now, and im taking the gap down to .034. do a search, and youll find everyones opinions, but i think they say take off .004-6 for every 25 hp of juice. not sure on that, but thats what i remember. go colder for the juice, ive got NGK TR6's...

everyone told me to put in the tr6's when i did my headers. they said it wont make a diff and will save time when I do spray. i went against what they said and did TR5's until I started spraying. i was forced to change my plugs. in doing so i got used to doing it and can do it fairly qwik. I can knock it out in less then an hour from the time i open the hood to closing it. I got in the habit of checking my plugs before and after i hit the track. maintenace is the key to making any motor last esp a HI PO motor. So I say dont be lazy and get used to pulling those plugs
