Spray out of the hole/ don't spray in 1st Q's.

I tried a search, but didn't turn up much...

I am still doing my nitrous research. Why are you not supposed to spray in 1st? And that ties into the other question; if you're not supposed to spray in 1st, then why/how do people spray out of the hole? Is that with auto's? -Spray after stall RPM?

-Thanx.

Usually people dont spray in first is b/c either 1. they cant get traction in first gear on the bottle or 2. They want to save the rear from going out. Or a combination of both.

...or 3. They don't want to break their transmission.

Spraying in first also would probably make you need to shift pretty quick out of first into second... probably want a little more gear than what first has to offer.

I was going to get a Mallory 685 for my n2o kit, will I need to get another box to lock out first? I spin to much with the 4.10's already, and adding nitrous in first wouldn't be a good idea.

and i spray my way to 1.50's outta the hole!

on a serious note, i'm pretty sure it really eats up the band in the trans when you spray through the 1-2 shift. but i still spray mine on launch

I spray mine through 1st (auto trans) I blew it up once but i knew it wouldnt hold, it was already slipping. I had to get some stronger bands and clutches and now its good to go. Im running the mallory box and not spraying before 3000 so i have a little time but not much

Then you should have put the $$ into building up your drivetrain instead of spending it on nitrous.

Not all of us want it to spray out of the hole and cut good 60 fts. Some people like to build their car for the street, not the track.

cutting good 60 ft's makes a faster street car. The track for some is only used as a tool to get their street cars dailed in. I can warm up a pair of et drags and come out of the hole with a 250 shot on on top of 450rwhp and holeshot 900hp poopras so bad they will not think about catching up

I am running a stock 10 bolt with a m6 and 4.10's. I am afraid i may snap the axle spraying out of the hole.
