Purge vent tube question

Do I need to drill a hole for the vent tube to go through the cowl?

Also, how do you bend the vent tube without collapsing it?

Anyone have pics of theirs?

Thanks!!

Re: Purge vent tube question

Hey I can help ya there. I drilled a hole in the center of my cowl. THe tubing is pretty flexible although I did got buy a tube bender for about $6 at NAPA>......I used 3/16ths brake line also from NAPA which fits right into the purge selonoid hole.

The tubing will collapse if you bend it to much by hand but with the bender its works fine.

Re: Purge vent tube question

Ok, how do I secure the line?
Do I still have to use a compression fitting?

Thank you very much for being specific

I'll take a trip to NAPA tomorrow.

Re: Purge vent tube question

Yeah you should be able to use the compressor fitting that came with your kit...or NAPA will have them too. AS far as securing the line, that all depends on where you put it and how you run it...On my from the Purge unit and into the Cowl where the winshield wipers are, it kinda just held itself there...
