Question Nitrous setup for a lt1

I am wanting to put a 100 hp shot of nos on my z-28. What kit is the best for this? Have read the differences dry/wet, which one would be recomended? Really like the ZEX sys since it comes with air/fuel monitor and uses tps voltage to activate, but have not been able to find much in terms of peoples experiences with it. Understand about spark plugs and using premium gas. Just need help picking out the best/safest kit. Thanks

Well of course I am not exactly an impartial judge because I am a NX Warehouse Distributor, but I like the NX systems. I think you will find a good number of nitrous users here that also like NX. Let me know if you would like a price on a NX system, they are on special right now and I can make you a very attractive price. Thanks Steve

I was always under the impression that a wet kit was safer than I dry one, since they don't rely on the stock injectors to provide the extra fuel.

Kinda leaning more toward zex system since no one has persuaded me otherwise. Now just need to decide dry/wet. Only plan on running 100hp shot. want safest/ best kit available. Thanks Rob.

I think it depends alot on what you want the system to do. If you are looking for some extra power and are not concerned about squeezing out every pony possible than I think a dry kit will work well for you. If you are looking to get every pony you can get I think you will get further with a wet kit. I can't speak for the other wet kits, but NX gaurantees that there systems will make the rated hp at the rear wheels. That means if your car makes 300hp at the rear wheels and you bolt on a 125 shot you will see 425 hp at the rear wheels. Nx gaurantees that it will be within 2% of the rated hp at the rear wheels and every one that I have seen had been a little more than 2% above. I don't think anyone can say that one system is right for everyone, it really depends on what you want. Just my $.02 worth if its worth even that

Welcome to the Board! Camaroz28.com is like the Encylopedia Brittanica (sp?) for f-body owners.
Regarding your question, I would suggest doing a search in the N20 Tech forum. This question has been asked and answered several times (may explain why the responses are so scarce) and there is alot of good info from some very knowledgeable nitrous owners. IMO, NX wet is the way to go. Hope this helps.

Will the stock pump support 250 HP on the NX EFI race system. Does it come with additional fuel pump.

The NX Race system(100-250hp)pn20118 does not come with a fuel pump but one is recommended above a 150 shot. I do not sell them but a great pump at a great price is the Walbro 340. They will support over 500hp and are fairly inexpensive. I bought mine from Racetronix who is a vendor on this board. Thanks

Buy a wet kit unless you plan injectors too. Otherwise go with at least a 190/gph intank pump and a NX wet kit. I would also buy all the safety accessories.

Thanks to all on their help. I am going with a NX SYSTEM with purge kit, fpss, blowdown tube, and a tps switch. Have NGK TR6 plugs coming. Looking into adj fuel press reg. Anything else to consider?

Any guesses on improvement in 1/8?

Thanks.
Rob

NX and TNT are the kits ive seen most praise for. All the badrap muscle car guys here in tampa use NX or Tnt. No one has blown there engine due to nitrous set up. Plus we got some good nitrous tuners.

Very important that u get a good tuner to make sure enough timing is pulled when the nitrous is activated. Plus adjust the air fuel. That will be the difference between a 5 year engine and a 2 week engine. Get wet if you have the stock pump and injectors. I will go dry because Ive seen wet nitrous back fire out the intake on wet setups. But this was on a big shot, wet set up. Smaller shots have less of a chance of puddling and then backfiring.

If all is good your car probably traps 77mph in the 1/8 miles. ET's are really hard to say cuz i dont know if u have an auto, if your tranny is messed up, if u have a torque converter, your clutch, your driving skills, your tires, your suspension etc etc etc...
If u play the safe side and use a 100 shot I'd say you'll trap 85-86mph in the 1/8

Get a wet kit, they are adjustable and thus easier to tune with.

I just picked up a 94 Z with an under manifold, direct port NOX system that I was told was an NX fogger set up for a 200HP shot. The entire system was never completed, so maybe I could e-mail you off-line to get your impression on what has been done and what needs to be done. Last night, I picked up a NOS time based progressive controller (that was part of the car sale) but wasn't wired in to the car. The bottle is mounted in the spare tire well and a line comes out and runs up to the back of the manifold, but I'm not sure how to complete the system.
