Installation time?
 
How many hours do you think an experienced shop would charge for a kit that has all the bells and whistles? No parts just labor. Bottle between the rear seats, dual nozzle on the elbow. Thanks

hmmmm. i would imagine it would take a shop 3-5 hours to install everything and test it.

It could be WAY WAY more than 3-5 hours.

Mounting a remote nitrous pressure gauge in the cabin w/ a custom bezel with sender and dimming ilumination could take 5 hours alone.

quicky
4 sheet metal screws, a zip tied 4AN, line, 1 solenoid and a push button sure 3 hours.

Exactly, it all depends on how "clean" of an install you want. On the installs we do it usually woks it way out to a full day, with most of the time being spent on the solder connections. Nitrous kits aren't very difficult to install, just a bit time consuming when doing a clean install. Sometimes installing them yourself over the course of a few days is your best bet, that way you are familiar with all the components of the kit and everything. On the flip side, for someone who is not mechanically inclined, having a shop install the kit is the best route to go.

yea like said, it depends how cleanly and neatly you want it done. quick and simple is a few hours, i actually plan on taking a few days and doing everything neatly and exactly how i want it.

it depends how good of a job they do. what parts exactly are they going to be installing besides the basic kit.

Like I said, all the bells and whistles. Anything and everything to make it as safe as possable. I do already have and upgraded fuel pump.

TurboSS, the bottle will be between the rear seats, so I don't think I'll need a remote pressure guage, but I get your point.

I'm also thinking the hours quoted are including a few pulls on the dyno to make sure the jetting is right. If not I'll have to add that to the cost too. I'm only talking a 100rwhp shot here, but like I said, I want to do this as safely as possable. The stock shortblock only has 30k on it and has treated me pretty well. I'd like to keep it that way for a little while longer if I can.

I once had a simple dry nitrous system with a WOT switch and purge...at the time I had no Idea really what I was doing and it took about 3-4 hours...I would now estimate I could do it in about 2...like everyone is saying, it depends what other accessories you want to run with it and how clean you want to do the install

Wow 10-12 hours at a possible 75.00per/hr labor rate. That will be a pretty hefty bill. Have you considered installing it yourself? Frankly, its not too difficult of a job. Mounting the bottle and doing the plumbing and nozzle installation is not hard at all. The wiring can be tricky, but just study the wiring schematics well and it doesn't even hurt to draw out your own schematic to get a better grasp of what you are doing.

Since when was reliable power cheap. Doing it yourself would be a good way to put money twards the diff that will break like a sugar cookie in the hands of a 4 year old. Some ppl are capable of electical installs that won't blow a hole thru a hyprcrap piston. The rest use MasterCard.
