I am going to be getting my engine rebuilt this summer, and was wondering, how much nitours (shot) to use... i was going to get a NX kit.... how much would yo reccomend for considerable gains without killing my engine, etc, keep in mind its going to be rebuilt... port/polish, pistons cam etc.... thanks...

It mostly depends on what pistons you go with.. If you go with a good forged piston I would say 100-150 with proper tunning.I have never played with a V6 and juice so I am more gussing than anything ...Good Luck if you plan on a bigger shot gap the rings a little more to compensate for the xtra heat.Good Luck

I know of a local club member that has sprayed 125 on a stock bottom ended 3.8. If you want to play it safe, I'd stick with a 75 shot.

 

on a v6, i would never personnally ever spray more then a 100 shot unless it was built to handle more...

i'd say a 75-100 shot is a "safe" bet...

of course u can go over but i dont even think i'll go over 100 on my lt1

 

basically i want to do a 100 shot and with a rebuild with performance parts that should be ok right?
