How much nitrous?

I've got a 355, forged everything, supercharged and I was thinking about nitrous. How much could I do without worrying about blowing anything up? 200-250? I really don't know, I'm brand new to nitrous. Also, if I was running 11 flat in the 1/4, what kind of time could I expect with a 200 or so shot of nitrous? Thanks.

How is the bottom end built? What kind of boost are you running? Give us a little more info.

Re: How much nitrous?

max boost is 11psi, all I really know about the engine is that everything is forged. Pistons, rods are forged, crank is forged steel. LT4 heads. I don't know what else I can tell you except that the car runs plenty rich as is, and I can still turn on the second fuel pump, and I can also get 110 octane race gas here, so my question is, what would be my max relatively safe level of nitrous? Thanks.

Re: How much nitrous?

Currently I have a Vortech 8psi and I've sprayed it with 100shot
and am going to 200 the next time out.... I use VP C-16
117octane on the nitrous side.

Your 110 octane is a little low for a 200 shot but I
think you would be okay at the 150 level, if your bottom end
is as good as you think it is. If you have a retard box, then set
it to retard about 5-6 degrees and if you have that second
pump on a dedicated fuel system, set it at 55psi.

My car picks up about 2/10 and 4mph in 1/8 for every 50shot. This
equates to about 3/10 in 1/4 so you do the math.

Here is my car on the right with a 100shot. Nothing violent, just
a little wiggle in 1st and then it went straight, like a Sunday
afternoon drive. lol

My recommendation is to start out with a 50shot and gradually
work up making sure you check your plugs after every pass.
I have had good luck with Autolite 104's up to 100shot and
Autolite 103's above that. If you are really serious about
big doses of nitrous then you might look into water/methanol
injection to prevent detonation.

Good luck.
