hidden nitrous setup
I guess this question keeps coming up more often than it should but I would like to ask WHY would you want to hide your nitrous kit?
With any street racing why would you ever show someone whats under the hood of your car? NEVER! That's the whole point you don't want the other person to know what your running, for all you know he maybe looking at your car and he thinks it's a V6 Camaro that makes 200hp at best so he raises the bet to $500 and still thinks your just reatarded and dont know any better so he gets ready to race you and figures there is know point in putting bigger jets in the nitrous kit, hell, he may not even turm the bottle on because he has this race won all ready. Little does he know but you have a 1000hp nitrous, stroker LT1 under the hood and the car is wearing Camaro V6 badges compared to his 900hp nitrous LS1(LOL!) that screams to everyone that see's the car"I'm a 900hp 9sec. street car so don't even think you can win" and most people would not race becaus they no the car is fast.
This is where the fun part comes in, your already back at the parking lot waiting for your money because you pulled him by 30 car lenghts and everybody seen it when you both raced.
My point is why hide something like the nitrous by putting it under the intake? This is the worst thing you can do for both the kit and the motor(I don't even want to list the reason there).
If that is the way street racing goes on in your area, If was you I would drive to another city. I would bet anything that the majority of the cars and there owners pulling engine inspection **** have never seen anything faster than 14 sec. time slips and OH, by the way they want to also race for fun. In any case I wouldn't even waste your gas.
Go to the race track if you want inspections and fun.
Go to the street and fill your pocket with cash!
If someone was to call me out to race and then they said open your hood I want to see your engine, I would tell them get ****ed and get in your car and race! A person could have a serious proplem if they pulled that **** on a money race on the street and then backed out.
The guys that aren't asking to look under your hood and your about to race them, those are the guys usually you should be nervous about. Not the stroke's that want to tear your motor down and also make a pass in your car before they race.
So avoid the engine inspection strokes and paying extra cash to hide parts.

There are ways to hide your N20 system. When I finally get all the extra accesories took in care of, mine will be a hidden system. I don't street race very often but being only 19 with a growing teenage car community, my car gets more attention than I want sometimes. With N20 I would never hear the end of it from my friends. I don't race for cash, though I might if given the chance. The thing is yuo never know who knows your running it if you show it. I could show it one week at the strip and then next week get offered a race with someone who is spraying a good bit and who knows I am too, but I don't know they are. I then loose. I would rather mine be hidden. Try a search. I made a post about this awhile back that yielded some good info.
There's always a way but your gonna have to be creative. Now I am assuming you'll use a dry kit since they are easier to install. If you want an "as stealth as possible" system then ..... The solinoids have to be under the hood somewhere. I suggest you find a nice home for them on top of an inner fender or in the most convenient spot and then make some sort of bracket and housing for it. Then run the nitrous output hose from there to the air intake tubing and punch it thru with out tearing up your stuff. From there it will run up to the throttle body and then you have to "rig" a setup to mount your jet to the tube at the throttle body.
Run the feed line from the bottle in that black plastic corrigated (flex loom) tubing (the stuff you put wires in to make them neat). All the control wiring can be ran in the existing flex loom that's all over the car. The only thing that's going to be visible is the line going to the fuel rails from the fuel solinoid. Just be creative and camoflage (?) it. And the interior switches, find a spot under the dash for the arming switch. For the activation switch you might want a coiled wie you can tuck under somewhere when not in use.
You have to be creative and quite handy to pull this off. Or just pay someone who has done it before and is willing to do it for you.
Happy spraying.

Mine is hidden and it really wasn't that hard. The main points are the bottle is in the spare tire well. The nitrous line is run inside the car. The line that runs through the engine compartment is covered with wire loom to make it appear factory. The solenoids are mounted in the center of the front bumper. The nozzles are hidden inside the air box with the line coming from underneath the air box. Most people look and have no idea the car is equipped with nitrous.
that link was pretty good...but again dont pop your hood and if you do then he should have spray painted that injector in the intake cause that would be spotted out,
im sure you have those people that would cheak the ash tray and the spare tire area.that why you just say just run and if you win ill tell you....that way you take their money and they dont find out

I thnk to many people hide there bottle in the spare tire well. Everytime I race a 4th gen for money, thats the first place I look. What I did is this. First, pick up a 2# bottle. Look under the drivers side dash where your feet go. Do a little clearancing in there and you can put a 2# bottle in there all day. Next run the line in the inner fender wall of the drivers side tire. Have the other end come out right by the bottom of a stock intake box and tap it in below the box. Make sure you put the solenoid right after the bottle. Yes, its a soft hidden system and you can only get 2 passes out of the bottle with a 100 shot and no purging. But with this exact set up, I was dropping 7-8 tenths off my quarter mile times and I won a crap load of money on the street. Dont do that spare tire crap though because any one who has the slightest clue about 4th gens will catch you. Use my set up and go win some damn money. Biggest thing is dont tell a soul. Once you brag to one person, then everyone knows.
Even though I'm no longer hiding (much), I've never gotten the "just don't pop the hood" argument.
Just don't pop the hood??? To me, that screams that you're hiding something and you're not going to get the races that you could have by properly concealing things - be it nitrous or other mods. Laying a good sleeper groundwork can really payoff when someone thinks they've seen everything and believes they've got you dialed in.
Now if your engine bay is gutted and/or your running a truckload of exposed aftermarket parts under the hood, then I can understand why you wouldn't want to pop your hood. Course in my opinion, that's more about being cocky and fast (no, that's not a bad thing
), but you're not necessarily setting things up to make the most money streetracing.

It's pretty easy..
1. use one of those new electric WOT switches
2. hide the nozzle in the little dongle thing on your stock elbow, 3. tuck the solenoids somewhere where they can't be seen
4. put the bottle in the spare well/get a remote opener if you need to
5. make sure all wires and lines have factory looking loom over them and are out of the way
5. hide the arm switch somewhere in the interior
6. this is assuming a dry kit, wets a little harder because you can't really hide where you tap for the fuel
done.
I don't see why you shouldn't try to hide it or at least don't have it sitting right on top of everything when you pop the hood.
