forged internals question

best place to buy/install forged internals. Suggestions on whats needed to spray 150 shot and not kill my motor. right now im using pills 43 and 26 and I picked up 90 rwhp and about 180ish rwtq.

i only spray at the track, and I only run 1/8th mile...Spraying that third gear is hell on a motor.

Re: forged internals question

some ppl spray 150 on stock internals. I think all you should need is forged pistons but it wouldnt be a bad idea to throw forged rods in as well if you've got the extra cash. As for where to buy them, first deside what you want, then maybe we can help you. I'd say summit would be a good place to start price matching. They are usually cheap.

Re: forged internals question

Im gonna spray a 175 with my racetronix fuel pump, know a few other guys spraying that on stock bottom LS1 and LT1 cars. Gonna run some race gas with it and pull some timing I think.

Re: forged internals question

I have forged srp pistons, eagle h beams and eagle forged crank. I also still have 2 bolt mains I don't plan on spraying more than 200 with my setup, but it should hold that no problem.

I just need a rearend so I can go get some good times.

Re: forged internals question

My bottom end consists of forged and coated mahle pistons, forged scat i-beam rods, stock reworked crank and billit four-bolt mains.

T/A lt1(clint) on here had it build for me and said he would feel safe spraying a 250 shot. He would know he is currently spraying a 200 shot on a similar bottom end and running 9s.

I wouldn't doubt your stock crank, there is a car club that has n2o small blocks and they all steal the cranks from lt1s as a cheap alternatives to forged ones.

Re: forged internals question

Stock crank is pretty strong IMO.

I'm spraying 150 on an internally bone stock motor...just fyi.

Re: forged internals question

A friend of mine was spraying 175 wet shot on his internally stock LT1. The car was running 11.0 @ 124 MPH. When he tore his motor down, it still looked perfect inside. He sprayed the car for somewhere around 4 years.

Re: forged internals question

175 shot on stock motor. Yall are telling me the only thing i have to do to spray 100 to 150 shot is to up grade my fuel pump, and pull so timing? By the way, I have a stock tune. Nitro Dave, how much timing do i need to pull to run 100...125...150 shots.

ps Right now on a 90 shot the guy that dyno my car said that the air fuel was fine.
