do headers make a difference with nos

How much difference do headers make when spraying say, a 100 shot?

Since you are physically and chemically forcing air and fuel into your engine, you can see greater gains on nitrous by helping to get all the additional exhaust out.

The How to Build a Small Block Chevy on a budget book I have talks about NOS's 100 hp jetting is good for as much as 190 horsepower if the engine is set up correctly (installing a 1.8 exhaust valve and a 1.94 intake valve is mentioned as well as 1.5 rocker on the intake and a 1.6 on the exhaust). The book really hammers on expelling the exhaust in a nitrous application, since you are forcing air and fuel in but doing nothing on the exhaust side to help expell the additional gases out.

That makes sense a lot of sense bro. I guess my second quesiton is, will not having headers cause some kinda wierd pressure build up that might lead to blowing a head gasket, etc.

As long as you arent spraying an insane amount of nitrous I don't think its a concern. There are plenty of people out there spray with stock manifolds.

longtubes into a cutout will give you a worth while gain. But if you only have a cutout that would help too. nitrous needs good exhaust. That is why the post explaining 100 shot giving 190hp is all the exhaust. Headers will give you a gain everywhere. I think you should just get em.

Get headers period . Best thing I have ever done to my car . They made the car sound tight, plus MAC claimed 28 horsepower to the wheels. Dont know if I got that much but it felt like I got 50. My 1/4 mile et dropped big time too. I got the nitrous kit after having headers and the car has been way fast ever since ... save the money ..... do the headers !!!!
