Best N20 Route on Stock LS1

Hey I have a stock LS1, basically just a lid and catback soon to follow along with headers and SSRA. I have seen two main nitrous setups on stock ls1's, 1: a system with two nozzles on opposing sides of the air lid (btw who makes this kit?), and another where it injects through a MAF housing (and who makes this kit?), so basically which is the better route to go to keep my engine safe and problem free, and who is the best manufacturer for these kits. Also on the best route between the two what is the ideal amount of spray in order to get a good kick, but not blow ur motor. Thx

The first kit with the nozzles in the lid is the NOS 5177 kit. It is a dry kit. It's been tried and proven to work well. It's the kit that I have and it is problem free. The second kit is likely the TNT wet kit with the Power Ring after the MAF.

You'll see more power from a wet kit but there is inherent hazards involved with running a wet kit on an LS1. There's the danger of fuel pooling in the intake and causing a nasty nitrous backfire.

A dry kit is safe as long as you are absolutely sure that you are not leaning the car out while on the gas. This is done by using a scan tool such as Autotap to determine A/F ratio.

In all cases, a 100 shot on a dry kit should be the safest amount to use until you determine how lean you're going. For a wet kit you could probably run 125 with complete confidence. Any bigger and you may encounter problems.

I was very happy with the TNT F1 "power ring" kit (wet) that I had on my 2002 z28. It was very high quality and it performed well.

There is inherent hazards in running any N2O setup, wet or dry. A wet kit could cause a backfire in the manifold (like mentioned above) or a dry kit could cause the injectors to lockup.

Both wet and dry kits can work very well. I personally like wet kits but if you take all of the safety steps and set everything up right, either will work.

As far as how much to spray, I used the TNT 100 shot (it make more like 125 HP). I had no problems at all with it. My car was about the same as yours, with a lid, exhaust and some small mods. The 100 shot picked up my trap speed by 14-15 MPH !!
