ever since I threw in my cam I noticed a pretty large increase in sound, its really mainly at idle and up to about 2500 RPM then its fairly quiet. I know if I'm guning it I might get pulled over, but are the cops pretty **** about loud cars at an idle and cruising speeds?

It all depends on the cop that day if he going to hammer you or not. They mainly like to get the ricers but if your acting like a fool driving wot passes they will pull you over and fine every little thing they can pull for any vehicle code in the book which they think there ASE certified. As for me I use to have the SLP LM and that is one loud exhaust system. After the cam install it was just to loud that I didn't want to chance it so I added a dynomax muffler on. The new law I belive is 93 decibels at 50, or 100 ft (one of them).

James - you're from Michigan, if you're coming out here let us know and maybe you can join us on one of the club meetings.
About the police, I took a corner in Orange County pretty hard (enough to get a little sideways, not extreme). My girlfriend was in the car and I always watch my mirrors. Two cars came in quick from behind at 80 MPH. I was at 60 MPH in a 45 zone. So, I cruised and they followed us a few miles before we got home and even followed us into the track two streets before the house. I'm running headers, Off Road Pipe, Cone Insert, and Edelbrock Cat-Back. It is very loud at WOT which is deep and I love it. Well, apparantly it got the police attention too as well as the sideways drift. Yes, they can nab you for anything on a bad day... quota

I had a cop on a bike give me a thumbs up while I had my cut out open. I had my cutout open for probably 2 years, & never once had a problem

Hey TMD, what do you think of your new header and off road pipe set up?
