Question WS6 rain guard question

Anyone take off the rain guard inside the nostrils of the WS6 TA that blocks most of the air into the air box? I was wondering if it’s safe to take it off even during the rain. Or will my engine flood from all the access water going thru? Anyone try this? Results?

I did it on my 97 and it gets the filter wet when it rains. So I drilled two small holes in the neck of the airbox for the water to get out. I have never had a problem with it, but I rarely drive it in the rain unless I get caught out in it.

You might feel a power loss at WOT while it's raining

The 96-97 WS6's get the filter wet.

The 98-02 WS6's wil be fine with the rear baffel removed.

Two completely different setups.

I took out both on my 98WS6 and also cut out the fiberglass behind them, WIDE OPEN. I have driven it in the rain and never had any problems.

I notice a BIG difference now around 40+ and up. I tested the car at the track before and after. Best MPH before was about 104.5, after was 106+.

I'm not saying you should do it... Just that it helped my car.

Good Luck.
