Actually Andy your color seems to shoot like crap for some reason.

I shot Rod's car last weekend, and although it wasn't ideal conditions the shots were pretty miserable.

The lighter the car the better really, but it all depends on sun position.

If you don't know how to shoot a black car with a body kit in sunlight or in the shade then you don't know how to use a camera! Man all this criteria for a photo.... Just giving you crap!

Both the white car and the silver car sound like possibilities. Contact me at uthinkso2@comcast.net for details.

Alot of magazine photographers liek to stray from black cars for two reasons. A) Why waste money on a feature that canbe done in black and white, and B) the glare issue is hard to surmount.

I have seen NUMEROUS black cars on covers, they look good if the photographer knows what their doing!!!

The color is tough to work with, no doubt about it. Most all dark colors are ask any photographer amatuer or professional. Call "crap" a loose camera term I spose.

That must be it Andy, I haven't a clue what I'm doing.

Let me rephrase here. Black, NBM, and Darker Colors in Gernal are a pain to work with. Specifically because you have to **** with the sun and make sure it is on the car but not too much. Sometimes you even have to wait it out, or you can use a warming filter to try and make a car full of shadows brighter. Which with an NBM car like yours tends to turn purpleif you use too strong of a filter. Then you get your slides back and the nice NBM SS you took shots of is now "Barney Purple".

I know a good photographer would catch this right? WRONG!! Your average photographer shoots 3-5 rolls on a car, sometimes more. Thats neither here nor there though.

Take Joe's SS for example. I shot that a few weeks back and it came out great, but because his paint is so damn shiny it casted a major glare. That became a problem that I actually had to wait out.

All said and done, any photographer who knows what they are doing can make a car look good. Its just a matter of the magazine wasting print dollars on a black car (which I don't agree with) or spending the extra time to get the car right. Unless it is really something special, most folks won't take the time.

Now a few people ahve asked what this is for. I am a field photographer for a company called Johnny Lightning. They make the little 1/64 scale cars, kinda like matchbox.

Anyway the call was put out for certain cars and 99-01 Cobras and GT's along with 98-02 F-bodys came up as well. So here I am.

If Johnny Lightning uses your car you get 1 full case (12) cars with you name on the photo card. From there your car will be used as the model and the photo card in the packaging that goes around the world will be a picture of your car. Pretty cool stuff eh!

So who's interested? uthinkso2@comcast.net
