Unhappy Polished Aluminum, Winter and getting your buns kicked!

As you may or may not know, I, 3 winters ago left outside 4 nice polished aluminum wheels to sit in the snow. NOW I have decided to clean them up for this summer. After a week and a half,
I have just finished the first step on the third wheel. Each wheel needs threes steps to attain a barely acceptable degree of FAIR LOOKING.

I could in no way, put these wheels on my show truck and get away with out loosing points. Judges and Mr. Jackson would surely tear me up. In order to make them look good would require 2-3 more steps and some polishing tools I don't have.
My cordless B&D and buffing pads are doing the best they can.

Please take care of your stuff before it gets in this bad of shape,
but uhhhh... they are giving me something to do!! It's like Chris says, it takes a while to restore them.

So if you see them on Redbirds tow truck, 'Pewter Intruder' this
summer, remember... BACK-UP, they are 5 foot wheels!!

HInk (can't wait to look at the Welds on Redbird, BUT... she has some protection)

Kev you know you have a friend who does that and would help you out. Call me and let me know when you want to come by. People don't know how hard it is to do polishing. You have to be willing to give up alot of spare time. We can work something out . I need a 5150 N20 kit installed on the IROC and tuning so maybe we can work something out. Just let me know and we will get them looking like new again. 586 558/6694

Yeah, from the parts I picked up, it does appear that you have some kind of experiance in polishing Thanks Chris.....guys are absolutely drooling over my intake at work. Left it on the parts counter by me all day until my engine guy picked it up. Like a proud poppa.....

Yep,
Like Kevin says,
Please take care of your stuff before it gets in this bad of shape,
but uhhhh... they are giving me something to do!! It's like Chris says, it takes a while to restore them.

It's way easier to take a little time to protect your goodies than it is to try and bring them back to like new shape.

Good lick on the resto job.

Success... all four done... now to go back and use the toothbrush on the first two wheels I didn't. Use a toothbrush to get in the hard areas to scrub.

Forgive me if I have a grayish smile this summer, but a man's truck gotta come FIRST!!
