Oh Boy... Just Bought 5 GALLONS of...
... Racing 41 Royal Purple Oil off of ebay... works out to $4.067 a qt.
Compare to Jeg's current price of $8.49 qt.
RP 41 is a little heavier than I like but 4 things helped me decide to try it:
1) Mileage (36,000)
2) Natural oil pressure drop when using (bigger) big block filter.
3) Heavier doses of N2O this year.
4) Price
Bought 3 qt's of RP 85/140 rearend fluid from the same dealer for $5.00 qt.
And... open carrier now made into 'poor man's spool' for insertion with (N2O) 4.10 gears
Next task... spare N2O bottle!
HInk (monies goin' fast)

I just picked up 5 qts of Shell 10W-30 and a Shell SH1 filter for my Mustang.Cost about $4.00 from work including me doing the labor.
Shell Oil and Filter = Good enough for my Ford but no way my Chevy would see that crap.

Red Sledd: I was about to say sumpin' similar!!
DaBear95: K&N = Good choice!! If your car didn't come with an oil cooler, you can put the 6002, 2 qt. filter on with the same clearences! That my friend is a lot of filtering media!!!
91bird305: You don't really need "skim milk" do you?????
Actually a tech rep from Royal Purple wrote back to me and said the RP 41 would hold up to the juice better than the RP 21.
Looks like I FINALLY made a right decision!!!

Since we are on the subject of oils, Does anyone remember the chain auto parts store that is now out of business called Autoworks?? i remember that the sunday sales ad use to come out with their specials advertising oil for 39 cents a quart. The name of the oil was called Black Flag.I always thought that was kind of humorous. Why would you call your oil Black Flag?? When I think of Black Flag I think car smoking badly (I.E. P.O.S.)Maybe that explains why they are out business.I guess the only good thing about it was if you had a winter beater you did'nt care about you could do a oil change yourself for @ $5 total with filter.
