Mine are leaking, the drivers side especially. So much so, that I wont race the car until I have that side fixed. I want to pull the axles, and replace the seals, putting RTV around the ends.

Anyone know what kinda seal I need? Can I get it at NAPA or Car Quest?

you got that rear from extreme correct? Joe and I were talking about them the other day and we were wondering how their work holds up. besides the leaky seals how is the rear? is it loud? any other problems? if you had to do it over would you go through them again?

Here's the replacement seal I found when I bent the one that came with my Moser. It's a Timken Automotive Service Parts 51098. UPC Is 053893836171. No leaks out of mine and I believe the seal was identical to the one that came from Moser.

Hey guys,

This is Darren from Extreme.

I will be the first to say that Harold has not had the best luck with his rearend. He shouldn't have had some of the problems he has had (leaky seals, loud gears). Both of those I have not ran into problems with before but stranger things have happened and I take ALL the blame. I hope I have been able to make everything right with him so he will use us again. As he knows we are very new to the Internet business and are off to a slow start, So I need to gain/keep any customer I can. I will do everything I can to make something wrong into something right with every customer I have.

If anyone has ANY questions feel free to call me at the shop 1-812-332-3753

Thanks for your time
Darren

Thanks Steve, I was able to pick some up from Auto Zone.

Darren, I'll call you tomorrow. I put some RVC on the housing around the seals, in the back, and in front. That should cure that problem. Moser suggested that I do this.

I havent had good luck on the rear, as far as leaks and noise. But I appreciate you trying to rectify the situation, by sending me new gears, and even willing to drive to my house to install them, from Indiana. I'ts my hope to get everything done by M7. It's looking rough.

As long as you get everything installed by Friday night you will be fine. That's what happened to me last year. I got up to Dad's house the night before at like 8pm and installed the driveshaft and did the small breakin procedure of 3 minutes forward and 3 minutes reverse. Then did a 5 mile drive to get them up to temp, let them cool and raced the next day.
