MM never would have won if you didnt expand the series to best of 7. I think they know that also. Last race heads up-the way it should be. There was some good racing once they got the Tbird to run straight down the track. They listed the Mustang as having a small block Ford (346SBF) engine.

Motown Muscle has an AVI of the episode on their website, so you can download it and watch if you want.

We went to BW3's in Grand Rapids to see it on the big Hi-def screen above the bar and it was well-done. The racing was good with only a few lengths separating the two vehicles. Motown Muscle needed a head-start of 3 1/2 lengths to accomplish three of their wins, and they were zip-tying rags to the coolant tank because of what appeared to be a lifting cylinder head. The last run, where they both went heads-up ended with Motown Muscle cooking the pistons out of their engine in order to win by half a length. Rumor has it the cars were trapping around 148 MPH in that race.

Turned out to be a great show but it would have been nice to see an hour long show considering it was 7 races.

Rumor has it the pistons were beautiful upon inspection over the weekend.

cool show. thanks for the tip. weird seeing people you know on TV though. looks like MI speed pulled one over on you MM guys huh? may have been the editing, but looks like the last race, the Tbird launched harder then ever? like maybe they were sandbagging off the line on top of pulling some timing to bring down power in the early races?

I thought it would have been cool to use the lights and timer for the last race, so people could see they were 9 second cars. Is Pinks staying with best otta 5 or going to best otta 7?

it was supposed to be a best of 7.
We were lifting the heads cause the distibutor was said to have been locked but we found out before the last race that it wasn't. So instead of 28 degree's of timing it was closer to 40.
I replaced the head gaskets the week after the pinks race and the pistons were perfect. It burnt a valve
We then smoked the trans at milan later.
Paul just disassebled the engine this week and said the pistons were good too.
As far as sand bagging?? Listen to the cars at the line.
It launched harder because we added 50hp on the last run

Chris,
It doesn't look as if there was any sand bagging in those races by anyone. I was proud of both teams! MS and MM were there to race hard, and that's just what they did. How many PINKS shows end with a straight heads-up, run it flat-out, no lengths given, seventh race with nearly 150 MPH at the top-end of the track?

well, dont mean to accuse anyone of anything, i was under the impression from seeing that show one time through that the last race was supposed to be like the first race. flat out run what ya brung. which, if they added 50HP to there shot, means they didnt do that from the beginning. I wasnt there, and i know nothing of the arrangments made before the runs except what I saw on the show. just wondered why didnt MS use that 50 shot from the beginning, esp. after getting beat by 3 car lengths when they finally did both get a good full pass that was also heads up?
so please, dont anyone get upset. Im not trying to stir up any shiznit. just commenting on how it looked from a neutral standpoint. it was a great eppisode, and the cars performances represented this area in a great way. I also wish the show would add something, maybe at the end, where they show the audience what the actual ET's were. that would be cool.

oh, and to answer your question, I can think of one episode where two brothers raced each other, one had a first gen firebird and the other a fourth gen (camaro I think) where they sure looked like 9 sec. cars, always wheels up, and ended on heads up race. that would be my favorite episode, the MM vs MS being a close second. but maybe cause I kept pointing to the screen and saying "I know that guy".
