Just got my Master Card Bill

Wow my Master Card bill just came in from the Oct 4th weekend in Michigan. Well holy sh*t

Two nights at the Amerihost didn't come cheap, considering that there was no water in the hot tub . When we wanted to go swimming, the pool was infested with multiple kids, doing who knows what in the pool water My bill was $217.00 dollars Canadian. I guess that to party with you guys and girls does not come cheap

I think that next year that we need to find a cheaper way to do this. For that price I will sleep at the end of someones bed...even on the floor, not to mention food and gas.

I know that some of the gang stayed at a motel 6 just up the road from the track. I am curious if they would mind if we pitched a tent on the lawn, maybe next to the pool

Doesn't anybody live close by. It only took tom and I 5 hours at speeds averaging 90 mph Just k/d it was only 89 mph

I got my MasterCard bill yesterday and the hotel was a few dollars under $130 US. It was $60 a night plus tax, which isn't too bad since I looked at the placard on the inside of the hotel room door which says the usual rate is $99 US per night. So since my brother and I split it, we each paid like $64 US.

Yes, perhaps it could be cheaper. But, the impression that I got was that JasonD was doing this pretty much all by himself except for help from lovely wife Val. While trying to have a job and a life. So we have to give the man props for getting the whole thing together.

Also, it depends on how nice a hotel room you wanna get. Motel 6 (isn't there a 9 in there somewhere? ) is about on the bottom end of the spectrum for me. Anything much less would be skeezy IMO.

Hey I don't want to come across the wrong way. Tom and I are impressed on how the whole event came together. I don't want to sound like a whiner, and it is not your fault that our Canadian dollar is not worth sh*t in the U.S.A We had fun

I guess that for 65 dollars a night (105 can) I could get a room with a hot tub ( and it would get used for recreational purposes ) as long as tom was not in it with me

Ah what the heck, we all had a good time

No, I don't think you guys are being whiners. It does totally suck that the Canadian dollar is worth less than the US dollar so it cost you guys more. Especially since you had driving expenses. And it did suck that the hotel had a loud brat infestation. And no water in the hot tub. (Although it's always too hot for me to get more than like my feet in.) PhantomTA was telling me that in past years, the M-event folks pretty much had the place to themselves. We need to arrange that again

BTW I volunteered to help JasonD and Val out with the planning for next year.

I guess I was just sticking up for them because I've planned field trips and the like before and I know how much work it is. But I know you guys are not whiners.

Just so you know you can camp out at Stanton just outside the gate for 15.00 dollars. If that's an option for you folks. Maybe you can get someone to show up with a moble home and work it out that way. We know people who camp out there a lot. Just a thought.
