ill get the number for you on the ta in flint tomorrow if i can and believe me i know what bondo looks like so if youre interested ill fine tooth comb it as best as i can before sending you all this way. one thing i forgot to mention about the navy and silver ta is that it only had like 80k or something like that on it and from the looks of things its legit. it also says 5.0L FI on the ground effects so im going to assume its a tpi considering its the only fi offered in '86 and its an auto. the interior is gray and also looks clean and not tore up. ill try to actually talk to somebody where its at and get the number for you. its at a little auto sales place off corunna rd just east of ballenger and off the corunna rd exit off 75/23 if anyone else wants to double check it if theyre in the area to save you a trip if its messed up. like i said if i wasnt hurting for money id buy it myself. and believe me i know the difference in a 5.7 car and a 5.0 car ive had them both, the 91 l98 formula, and now a 5.0 89 formula, and ive had a 5.0 tbi camaro, and a 2.8 camaro, just so you dont think im one of those who can be sold anything.

hey eric which gta was that in davison that youre talking about ive probably looked at every 3rd gen for sale in davison, genesee, flint, burton and the whole thumb just about.

did anyone happen to see the white 91z that was for sale at the RR-tracks off belsay this summer. that had t-tops, and a (supposed)5.7 with traditional valve covers, 305 balancer, and a cold start injector? needless to say the guy shut the hood and walked away from me without answering any questions.

thanks I really appreciate it up in Flint, I would hate to drive far to see yet another spoiled f-body. I am looking at a 85 trans am tommorrow that looks promising but $4300 is a little high for a stock 85 trans am thats not a ws6 or gta but maybe he will take a decent offer, if it is a solid car.

Wasted more time today looking at a car where the guy swore it had the original paint job but was actually repainted only half the car, in certain spots and they couldn't even match white paint, thats the easiest. The paint was also cracked everywhere but atleast it didn't have any rust, it also didn't have any brakes and couldn't get the hood open I wouldn't pay $4300 for a car like this. If anyone out there is selling a car and is honest I would like to shake your hand, I am 0 and 7 for meeting honest people, my record isn't very good. I'll admit though every f-body owner I have met from Camaroz28.com in the past has been helpful and honest, too bad I can't find anyone else like that. If anyone knows of any clean 3rd gens, especially IROC's or WS6 cars please let me know, I don't care about t-tops, even if the interior is in bad shape as long as the car is solid and is mechanically sound. I live in South Lyon Michigan and drive to Lansing every day so anything close would be very helpful, I'd even drive over an hour to find something decent.
I miss my camaro!

Thumbs up

RCR here on the board has a 89 Formula 350 that is built and needs nothing. This car is sweet and has around 275 RWH I think maybe a little more. Body paint and interior are in very very good condition. He is asking $5500.00. If I owned the car i would not sell it for that. His car is about as clean as my IROC and allmost as fast. This car will run with some stock LS1 cars. For the money you won't find something this nice and fast. I will edit this post after I find his web address. Here is his web page http://mywebpages.comcast.net/rrabine2/main/rcr3.htm
you can see from the pics just how clean this car is. It Dyno 270 RWHP. That would be good for a low 13. second pass with the suspension mods he has. If I didn't already have two f/bodys I would buy it. Like I said you won't find a cleaner car for that price.

this car looks sweet but I can't afford $5500 I am a broke law school student and I prefer something less than $3500 and maybe up to $4000 but unfortunately I can't go any higher.

hey i finally made it to the transam during business hours today and checked it out for ya. its an 85 not 86 and it does have the 305 tpi w/79k. but thats a good thing because all of the 85's ive ever known ran like mad! its basically a ws6 only i dont think they called them that in 85. it has the 16" rims and 4 wheel disks with a tag on the pig stating its a limited slip. the interior is ok, not perfect but definately decent only a few probs but the seats and carpet, etc... look pretty good. it just barely smoked when the guy started it but not bad at all and it was sitting for a while. the running part is a different story. it runs rough when cold, it acts like it has a cam in it only the motor looks as if its never been opened up before. the body has no rust anywhere and the guy said it came from kentucky this spring and it still had the plate in it last i knew. it has been repainted and there is imperfections but i think it was because they had such a problem in 85 with the paint sticking from the factory, the only thing i found was the nose was changed with a used one at one time but you cant tell at all i just seen a small spot of burgandy peeking through. the guy said his bottom line is $3100 and that should save you enough to take it to precision tune to find out what sensor or whatnot is bad. and he was really cool about it all i told him i was looking for somebody else and he was like ok what do you want to know, and do you need a magnifying glass while youre at it. he didnt have a problem at all with me picking it apart to pieces and pointing out any little flaw. i would say its worth you driving up to look at. just take 75 to corunna exit and head east less than a mile and its on the left (north) side of the road. right after halo burger

It was like a year ago maybe. The car was just off the corner of Vassar and Lapeer on the right side of Lapeer Rd. It was a black GTA.

Well, it's listed as a Chrysler, but it's really a Mitsubishi. Turbo 2.6l 4 cyclinder, intercooled, etc. For $3500 you should find a decent one. I miss mine all the time...
