I need a handling sports car! Any for under 3500?
I am primarily looking for a 88-93 mustang 5.0 but if anyone has seen any any other good handling sports cars under $3,500 let me know. I want a v8 car.

I know a Caprice isn't really a sports car but the LT1 makes them fun.
If you're interested, there's a guy near Flint with 3, 94-96 9C1 (police pkg) Caprices all under 2500. His name is Paul and his number is 810-732-1501.
They're quite capable of out running stock fox body mustangs and stock 3rd gen camaro's without spending very much on mods.
They're also cheaper to insure, more crashworthy and don't attract as much attention.

Have you looked at first generation DSM's? I have a 91 Talon as a beater, AWD 5sp intercooled turbo with new nitto NT450's and it handles like its on rails, fully independant suspension, 18psi boost accelerates with the best of them. Mustang 5.0 needs lots of mods to beat an almost stock DSM, and the DSM four is stronger then the mustang 5.0. Low 13's for most, some in the 12's with little effort and money.
It doesn't have the class of the camaro, but it fits its role VERY well.

I am dreaming, enjoying my newborn girl, but as I look out the window I see a 91 Talon with 212,000 miles that runs 13's.

Don't get me wrong mustangs are ok as long as the owner is cool.

what are you talking about, that is not unrealistic. 13 second dsm's are everywhere.

Tell ya what if your thinking about a DSM I would look around for a used 91 to 93 TT stealth, they look better and I've seen them with high miles advertised for $3500.00 and they are the best handling cars I have ever owned. (they make a F body seem like a brick)
They are a PITA to work on though so stay away from anything that needs transmission work (easy 2+k repair) or hasn't had a recent timing chain done as they seem to need them every 60k like clockwork.

Hmm, wonder if they'd take a bike as partial payment?
Please email me and let me know where these notchbacks are. vellaj@cooley.edu
theres an 86 or so transam for sale by my work that looks really clean. it says its from some other state and if i had the money i would buy it myself. its dark blue with silver ground effects. i didnt see any rust anywhere on it and i believe it has fairly good 245/50/16 tires and the 16x8 rims. it looks all stock unmolested and im not sure but i thought it had the 5.0 tpi. and i has t-tops too. if you want to know more i will go look closer and take notes for ya, oh yeah its right in flint. and there was a different one like an 89 or so in fenton about the same with a 5.7 tpi but it also had one rust spot that was touched up with paint on the pass. quarter but i havent been out that way in a while to see if its still there. i drive all over for work so if i see anything else ill let ya know

Thanks for lookin, if you can get me the phone number on the t/a in Flint I would appreciate it, I drove around and called and went and saw 6 f-bodies in the detroit area, they all had bondo or something wrong and were all over priced. I wouldn't mind a little rust spot here and there but when I can see bondo from ten feet away its not a good sign on a new paint job and also everbody claims to have a 350 but when I look at the vin # they are actually 305's I don't mind a 305 and would buy one but I hate when people lie about that kind of stuff.
Don't get a 305....seriously.
Yeah, there was this nice GTA in Davison this summer. Looked awesome from far away, then when u got up close u could see bondo in some spots. I said, whats with the bondo? The guy totally denied it. He was asking way to much anyways. F-cking cheap bastards.
