Re: Hello

The short of it is the shop where the car was getting twin 78's custom built, got broken into. The shop did not have insurance at the time of the break in. Lots if stuff stolen in the shop and out of my car. Sets me back quite a bit. My insurance doesn't want to pay because I didn't have a rider on the additional items from stock.

The compression was lowered to 9.5. So it's not going to set the world on fire, but I'd like to break this motor in. They stole the wiring harness, and parts of the fuel system. So I'm looking for those items first. Hope to cruise it this year.

Re: Hello

ouch. sorry to hear about that. what fuel system stuff do you need?

and even with 9.5:1, you can run 10-12psi pretty safe. I have, and it made over 600 to the tire with a stockish motor. stock ls1, 6.0l heads, springs, rockers. thats it.

in a street car, thats enough; I think. and if your still bigger cubes, better heads, cam, and a better turbo 700+ should be pretty easy.

I'm still around; busier than ever. Good to see you on the board again Harold.

I need to fix the leaky rear output shaft seal on a T56 while it's still out of the car. Anyone know how to go about this? The T/A's last drive was to an M event. I don't even remember the year. 2009?

Sucks man, I wish you luck on getting things back set.

:D Sounds like a winning set-up. Whatever makes you happy. :)

 Truth! Dan, if you want help getting that thing put together, you know how to reach me. :)

I just installed a window motor hotwire kit with express-down on the passenger side yesterday. It got dark before I could get the new motor in, but the wiring part is done and working. :) Tonight, the motor goes in, and hopefully I get time to do the driver's side too.

Not as exciting as a new engine, but I'll take what I can get. :D

Argh,
I've been called out!

Re: Hello

I ended up getting the window motor in on the right side, and it's SO FAST now. Express down on both sides is really nice, especially now that the weather warrants removing the t-tops. :) Unfortunately, now there's a slow parasitic draw in my electrical system -- if parked for more than about two days, the car won't start. :|

I haven't had time to look into the problem yet (I just hook up my battery tender whenever I park), let alone install the new driver's side motor.

There's a kit made by a former supporting vendor, AutoTrix.

AutoTrix :: Passenger Window Express Down Kit
