A good night of racing (video)

Now that the car is all together I finally had a chance to field it in tonights Real Street 10.0 Index class up at Stanton. I guess you could say I stormed the class with a vengance and qualified #1. It was a great time and a friend managed to video tape all but my first round of qualifying. Here's the timeslip info:

1st Round Qualifying:
60' - 1.474
1/8 - 6.400 @ 110.28
1/4 - 9.965 @ 136.86

2nd Round Qualifying:
60' - 1.534
1/8 - 6.470 @ 110.48
1/4 - 10.033 @ 134.99 (I lifted at the last cone)

1st Round Elminations:
RT - .502
60' - 1.486
1/8 - 6.449 @ 109.22
1/4 - 10.053 @ 132.02(lifted just a bit)

2nd Round Eliminations
Bye Run, not worth mentioning

3rd Round Eliminations
RT - .468
60' - 1.438
1/8 - 6.370 @ 109.78
1/4 - 10.258 @ 112.21 (lifted A LOT)

Final Round
RT - .475 | .499
60' - 1.407 | 1.490
1/8 - 6.329 @ 110.75 | 6.574 @ 107.47
1/4 - 9.994 @ 122.83 | 10.236 @ 133.49

I couldn't see him and I didn't want to slam on the brakes. I lifted just a smidge, but should have waited just a touch longer. Oh well!

Enjoy the video of all but the very first round of qualifying for me. This is not dial up friendly, about 10Mb. I didn't get any video of anyone else unfortunately.

Congrats man. Looks like you lost the final by a RCH. Next time pull up on the hand brake, it will slow you down without showing the brake lights. I need to get your combination if you are willing to share it.

derty Sep 14, 2003 11:32 AM

No handbrake on this setup. The combination is simple, ARE 382 All Bore solid roller, Rossler TH400, Neal Chance converter, NX 200 DP setup, and some trick suspension work. Other than that it's easy, lol!

AWESOME!!!

Did you run that 9.9 @122mph timeslip with nitrous or N/A?

WOW congrats BTW!

limige Sep 29, 2003 02:26 AM

sweet job whooping some butt!!
very nice!

derty Sep 29, 2003 10:01 AM

It was with nitrous but I lifted at the end. I just didn't lift enough to win, go figure! Based on the 1/8th mile time it would have been somewhere in the 9.8x range about 139-140.

91Bird305 Sep 29, 2003 10:19 AM

Steve, u need a better quality digital video camera. :D

But awesome job man! Congrats! Your car is badass.

derty Sep 29, 2003 11:13 AM

The camera is actually fine, it's the quality of the video that I sacrificed. You should see the master copy that I have, it's flawless. But it's also outrageously huge. Unfortunately I don't have the bandwidth to host videos that are 1024k bit rates all the time.

91Bird305 Sep 29, 2003 11:36 AM

Damn, cause I could sure use a better quality video for Michigan Muscle III collection. :D

derty Sep 29, 2003 12:14 PM

Umm, well, bring your camera to M8 then. If you have any footage that you want, I can get you the hi-res stuff. Just tell me the timing on the video and I'll get the clips. In all honesty, I'm waiting on the 9.88 video still. That one should look pretty good.
