Well this being my first year filing for taxes..i figured id go the easy route and do it online..should be pretty simple. Well i find out that i claimed myself as a dependent (1) when i needed to do a 0 Doh! So of course i get all this ****..but i guess its good to know that even the IRS lets you fix your mistakes. I have to file out a 1040X they call it. Pretty much the same thing..just fixes my mistake that i made. I also did something in MI 1040 cr-7 or something..well i never clicked the box..but the website did it for me where it said i pay rent and such..whereas i dont..so they sent me some energy draft check? which of course im not eligable for. SO now i have to re-do the 1040 form with the 1040X and then mail the check back..with a letter stating that i messed up. I hate taxes already lol.
