Another Fun Night At Milan

Same Old Thing. Not sure why I expected much difference?

I wasn't even able to heat up my tires. I tried backing into the water (Never saw them spray the box with water once) and the line person kept saying I was there when I wasn't. Couldn't get the new MT ETs to even barely turn over in front of the box, stuck to hard. So, then I do get them going and the guy won't let me do more than a 5 second burn out before giving me the signal to roll out. Off the line spun bad on first run. Second just rolled of the line. Then Rained Out.

Two runs:

First
1.895 60'
7.98 1/8
10.382 1000 Ft
12.40 111.42 MPH

Second
1.841 60'
7.93 1/8
10.339 1000 Ft
12.37 110.84 MPH

So, pretty dissapointed. I am going to trailer the car Norwalk or Mid Michigan next time to see what I can get at one of these tracks. Last year I ran .3 faster at Mid Michigan than I did at Milan.

What days does Mid Michigan have Test And Tune Only?

Thanks,

Bill

Next time dont listen to the guy... we may just not have realized what tires you had on the car and thought they werent anything special.

Next time, point your outside mirror down towards your back tire. That should help the backing into the water box issue. ;)

Wednesday nights from 4:30 'till 9pm

I still don't understand why you're only running 110-111mph?

Al,

I am wondering if the car is pulling timing for some reason? Is there a good software program that I can buy to monitor my car on runs. That way I can check for KR that would pull timing along with other items that may be affecting the car.

I guess the thing that really killed me last night was the 60’ times. I ran 1.75s last year with my 2800 stall now a 1.89 with my 3800. I am also swapping out my lowering springs and going back to stock for better weight transfer.

I’ll have to see about coming up to Mid MI in about a month. I’ll try to do it on a night you go. Maybe you can try the car out and see what you can get out of it.

Oh Yea, I was foot breaking the car, First run about 2,000, second run took it to about 2,300RPM. Since I only got two runs I didn’t get a chance try flashing the converter.

As Always, Thanks For Your Input.

I'm no expert, but maybe the 3.23s?

what octane fuel are you running, maybe try some 100 octane no lead if your running narrow band 02's . that should reduce the knock if there is any. not that it should need that much octane. but its a good test anyway.

Well, intake temps will pull WOT timing with or without knock. I believe once you get over ~96*F, it'll pull 1* of timing. By the time you hit 130*F, it'll pull 3*'s of timing. Maybe next time you head down there, I can hook up my Flashscan in your car for a run or two to see what's happening. That way, we can see intake temps, timing, knock retard, etc.

I ran 110-111mph with a stock motor thru stock manifolds with 3.23s.

Yep that's always a good test for false knock. If the 100 doesn't make the knock go away then it's false knock.

Autotap and I have it.

That could just be traction related

If you set a firm date then I'll try to get a vacation day for that day and come help you figure this out.

Let me know when

I am running 93 octane right now. I am not sure there is any KR going on. I just am wondering what could cause the times I am having.

??????? would a rod knock or bad lifter cause KR?

Thanks,

Bill

Thanks, that would be awesome. Where do you get a Flashscan at and how much do they cost?

Bill
