Syracuse/CNY area shops for welding and gear installation

Here is what i need done...

-gears/differential installed, whole rear end rebuild
-sub frame connectors welded
-LCA relocation brackets welded

i know there is Dynamic Performance here in the 'Cuse, and I know of a couple guys here and there who do gears. But, who else is around? I have heard that Kennedy's is a little pricey, and gets pretty backed up (the car won't be on the road till late april).

How about places to get that stuff welded? I want to make sure it's done right...on a drive on lift, etc. I know a few people that say they can do it, but it's not always as simple as welding a few tubes onto a subframe.

any ideas?

thanks...

Rear Rebuild

Have a friend that works for the local Chev. dealer and does rear end rebuilds on the side. ( very good!) fair pricing and excellent work! Shoot me a e-mail if you need further info.

i have heard a lot about mike nemmiti...he is probably where i will end up taking it. i also know another guy that does real good tranny/rear end work just in case.

i am more concerned right now about finding a guy to weld some stuff. i am gonna need my SFCs on this spring asap.

thanks man...

White's Auto and Speed Supply in Cicero, NY. It's a family owned parts retailer and machine shop that has been in business for over 30 years. The shop has campaigned NHRA record holding vehicles and points leading DIRT cars for years. Call 699-2781 and ask for Jason.

BTW - Do not go to Mike at Dynamic Performance. I personally know of several cars that he has totally F'ed up. These are cars with gears, latter bar installs, back-half's and other work done there.

I do not like to trash people but I hate to see someone pay for work that is not up to par. I am not saying that Dynamic's work will not roll down the street but there are better options.

:Edit:
I was checking out your website. Nice site BTW. I noticed that you had White's Reliable Machine listed on there for a machine shop. Give them a call. They are more than a machine shop.

Mike linue is a guy who does full chassis for race cars. He mainly does full race cages and exaust systems. he can be located threw dynamic performance if needed. I can show you some of the cars he has worked on including mine and he does incredible work. As far as dynamic performance, mike is a good friend of mine. And yes, his nickname from is "the clubber". I know mike has worked on cars that something has f'ed up on, but what shop hasne't. I know for a fact, hes a very good rear-end guy to go too for spools, axels, gear changes, ect.

Red, you wouldn't be the guy who has the nasty sounding red z28 with the cage in it that hangs out ot DD on thomphson rd is it? Either way, hope to meet up sometime this year. Take care guys.

My car has not been to D&D yet. You are probably thinking of Scott Berger's (sp?) car. It is a red Z with a 3" cowl hood and a carberated small block by Bill Mitchell. He has a lot in to the car but I don't think he has found all the car has to offer. He has run around a 9.90 with the fogger system but I think the car has more in it. Although I can not say for sure since I do not know everything about the combination. I do know that I will give him a run with my 383 LT1, and a few other mods, if he wants it.

I will be out there this summer. If you see a red 95 with a Harwood Ram Air hood on it come up. We'll talk.

i know jason...he is who i always deal with when i go there for anything. are you sure that they do anything other than machine work? they dont even have a traditional garage there last i knew.

i do know that they are good as far as engine work goes.

i live in north syracuse, about 10 minutes from whites...next time i am in the area i will stop in and see what they have to say. i would rather stop in so they can at least (probably) recognize me as a regular customer.

thanks.
