Meet @ 42?

Would you guys be interested in getting together @ 42 this spring? Sometime mid-late April would be great. Just got a whole bunch of little stuff done to the TA and I want to see if I can beat my best of 13.79....Where is everyone from around here? Im from Canal Fulton. Usually up at the strip a lot, or on Tusc. (Lincoln Way)

I'm usually up at Dragway 42 Firday and Tuesday nights. I usaully don't make plans because everytime I do it rains, so I just go up whenever the weather is right.

Oh, and I'm from Canton and I go to the strip and down Tusc every now and then too.

Hell I'm down. I believe this is the 3rd or 4th year that we have tried to get a thing going but the most we got together is 3 I think. lol. Last year really sucked with all the rain.

Hopefully I can get a tranny by the end of April but more likely she will be up and running in May sometime. Waswa, I'm coming for you. 3500 stall and some 3.73s. I have to debate how much I want to spend on the tranny now though. They range from $1,250 to $2,400. I like the www.fbodytrans.com ones personally for the price, they coime with tranny coolers and deep pans too.

Yeah, I know what you're talking about with rain. Its like its constantly stuck over West Salem!

Does anyone know the method they use for preping the track there? Because I normally get 2.2 60's and last time in the COLD I got a 2.018 and the only thing I did different was do a bigger burnout to clean my tires off and run with a 1/2 tank rather than a 1/4-1/8th....I hope I can get this launch down, because If I can cut 2.0x, Im good for mid 13s, maybe better

BTW, Ive got a few other friends that would be comming with fbodies too. Two LT1 TAs, a 94 Z28, and a guy from fbody.com with a 96ws6 with a 383 Stroker Ran a 12.90 on a smoking clutch

42 opens March20th(Saturday) My baby wont be out of hibernation till April 2nd, so Im running my 96 Ranger Im comming up with a few friends (Gay civic, a 94z28, and a few other cars) Yeah, supersports car is flippin awesome! When I was there last time he was running low 12s spinning the whole way down the track Justin my sisters BF works @ swensons in jackson and over the summer he was like "Damn, you missed it...About 5 minutes ago a turbocharged SS just drove by" I was like "Turbocharged? You sure it wasnt supercharged?" Till I saw you at the track with a turbo.

A little update, I didnt get that 94 z28 because the lady wouldnt back down $250.00 But Im glad I got my baby now....Oh, and I would just like to tell you that the night you were up at the strip and I heard your car I promised myself I would get a cutout, guess what my first mod was on the TA? Didnt you used to have hooker LTs and dual cutouts?

yep...former setup was the obnoxious sound of hooker lt's, ory, and loudmouth. if rasp is what youre after, i highly recommend that setup! man that was painful. thats why i put the cutouts in...to get rid of the rasp. it worked, but sounded like a pro stock car and although i like sound, it was just too much. damn near had to have a megaphone to talk to my passenger. no rasp with the turbo now

hehe...i got so many mixed reactions last year with the turbo. i had a group of bikers that insisted that it was a supercharger...that was an interesting conversation. half of the people couldnt tell that it had FI period! i had a couple guys at one car show that asked me why i had a boost gauge. naturally i was a bit confused why i got asked that. poor guys were more confused though.

with this snow we are supposed to get tomorrow, who knows how long it will be until we get our cars out. perhaps we should start a new thread with a specific date for sometime in early may. May 4th, 7th, 11th? what works for everyone?

I've had my car out for a while now. 400+rwhp and 4.11 gears makes good donuts in the snow Just kidding, its out but I don't drive it in the snow. I'm racing on the 4th at the Firestone plant in akron. Yes, my first autocross experience, I'm so nervous. no one is allowed to come out and watch

BTW, Justins car is pretty amazing, there is always a horde of people standing around his car in the staging lanes at D42
