Don't forget north Wilmington (Delaware) - many people travel from here to Philly, only about a 30 minute drive to West Philly. Very easy access to I-95, lower crime rates (I think?), lots of car people and it wouldn't be a problem finding housing along those lines. I live in Newark which is great (Univ of DE chicks are the best!) and my occasional trip to philly is about an hour when the traffic's not bad. People also commute to Baltimore from around here, too. NJ is right over the bridge. Cecil county dragway, MD is about 45 minutes from Wilmington.

Hope this helps,
JR

Almost forgot - no sales tax in Delaware

The cost of living is pretty much lower than Boston anywhere around the area(with the exception of the city phila.). Whether it's NJ, DE or philly's suburbs, it'll probably be cheaper. But then again, cost of living is high in most major cities. Insurance in PA is fairly good. I pay $1100 per year(27 yrs. old). The cops in philly are pretty cool but they are not cool everywhere else including NJ and DE. Atco Raceway, NJ is probably on of the better tracks in the country (seeing as how it's so close to sealevel). As far as jobs go...depends on what it is. There seems to be a lot of labor/warehouse jobs, construction/landscaping, as well as driver jobs. However it seems like the computer jobs are scarce as the area is flooded with computer grads. It's a pretty happenin' area as everything is just 15-90 min away(philly, shore, NY, etc.). Traffic sucks almost everywhere. It's pretty much a rat race around here. I wouldn't have it any other way . Hope this helps

Another Vote for Northern DE. Like they said,no sales tax, apartments are fairly cheap (700-900 for 2 bedrooms). Insurance isnt bad, although i have quite a few more points than the normal guy.

You will be right in the middle of everything, short drives to Philly,Baltimore, and at least 5 Tracks within 2 hours........and all are 1/4 mile tracks.
