Question How was the track rental?

Well? All I heard is that Kevin had some problems in his dragster. How did everyone else do?

The weather was perfect...

It was great!!!! Had about 23 times slips. and almost an 11 sec. pass. When I say almost I mean almost.

60' 1.829
330 5.096
1/8 7.798
mph 91.73
990 10.024
1/4 12.000
mph 118.21

It is a shame that happen to Kevin he just started to get it dialed in. He did go a 7.91

All in all a great day and I hope everyone had a good time. Thanks again everyone.

I had lots of fun. I didnt even count the time slips... but I definatley made progress. I finally figured out what was wrong with my car. The MSD box is bad. I by passed it and went back to stock and all my problems seem to go away. Consistant 12.20-12.24 all day long And my reaction times are getting much better.

My buddy John with the 55 chevy had fun. 11.76@110. He ran out of gear well before the end of the track. a 4 speed, 4.10's and 454... but as he said, its a cruiser not a drag car. He just wanted to know what it would do. Too bad because he still had 2 full bottles of nitrous and a 200 shot to try out. Bad news is that the oil leak came from a broken tranny. He broke the tail shaft off. Hes still not sure how in the world it was still drivable but it drove on and off the trailer.

All in all I would say it was well worth my time. I had fun and got alot accomplished.

sounds like a great day of racing !!!! good job everyone...

23 time slips....thats awesome LOL

bad 97...you said you ran 12.0 @ 118 mph. ?? isn't that mph way high for only a 12.0 pass? I would think with that mph, you would be running more like 11.4ish. what was the deal?

my velle ran 12.4 @ 109 mph. I know for a fact that when my car gets that kind of mph, the ETs will be at least a full second faster than what she's got now.

Either way....cool....

What can I say? Seemed like I had the whole track to myself the way we were all spread out, making a few runs, then tuning. I could do three, four, five, hot laps before someone else showed up on the strip. Too cool.

John... "12.000000000" was soooo f'n' close. I feel for you. Myself, I could never ever get a 13. With the track being so open, I tried all kinds of combo's of feathering off the line, stomping off the line, etc. Bottom line; I need tires and not the street radials. The dang thing even got spinning between 1st and 2nd. Gave up and just practiced R/Ts and was happy when I start getting consistent 0.2s and 0.1s.

I ended up with 27 timeslips. There were a few more, but I threw them away for stupid things, like, um, hitting the rev limiter and taking a cat nap at the start line, etc.

Much thanks to you John for making this happen. Had a great day off from work, well, 'till I had to drive home. Got lost in NJ-land, found the Atlantic City Distressway at exit 33W and had to cross the Walt and drive up the Surekill distressway during "rush" bumper-to-bumper-forever hour.
Oh well.

Heavy, my 60' times need to come down. I figured out the problem when I got home. The rear was bottoming out on the rubber stops. Time for new suspension and a higher stall converter. Then I should see some good times.

Ron, Glad you had a good time and thanks for coming. I had a BLAST. And for 12.00000000 I am still today kicking myself for that. O well leave that for another day.

Nice. Glad everyone made out okay! I wish I could have taken the ride down to help Kevin out but I took the time off from work this week to get my house together and that is what I'm trying to do (while I sit behind my keyboard surrounded by boxes in my new office).

Need to do this one again. It was great. I got over 20 runs in. I did a bunch of 1/8 mile passes in a row (working on the tree). 5 passes in less than 15 minutes. Found out the car goes very consistant in a round robin competition. Got a pair of .000 RT's. and very consistant .030's.
