it would be a pretty good race. But by the look of you're mph, you've got alot more in you're et if you hook. I'm hoping I can squeeze more out of mine too. 5000 rpm launch here I come.
My cam maxes out at 6000 so 4.10's were a waste for me, forcing me to shift into 5th by the end of the quarter.
I look foward to seeing you guys there.

I went today.. Ran in RT2
Not too many people there.. [very HOT too...]
car 3-4 tenths off, but consistent..
One run I ran .001 off dial.. I was pleased..
Redlighted in semi final
so not 'in the money' or trophy..
Not a bad day tho..

Yeah it was way on the hot side... and humid too which my car doesnt like. I was about .4 off my usual. Slight head wind, the heat, and closed up exhaust... I think it wasnt a bad day.
I made it to the finals in slick tire.
I beat the first guy bad. Schooled him on the tree and hit the brakes to ensure the win.
The next guy was running a late modle turbo monte SS. He was toying with people and had a bottle int the trunk. I was lined up with him earlier for time trial and he went 12.4x. Next thing I know he was dialed in 12.79. The light went green and I had hte better reaction time again. Not a good light on my part but better than his .380 light
. He suddenly shot right in front of me at the 330' mark and just paced me. So I stayed in it hard... knowing I was holding ~.005 to .010 on my dial. He sprayed on me again to keep up and right at the line I tapped the brakes and he broke out. 1 more win for me.
Final round was a close one. I dialed 12.59 and the vette was 12.40. Both of us had crappy lights my .175 to his better .168. At the line we were dead even. Too close for me to call, but he got the win light. My 12.596 to his 12.46x. Margin of victory was .001!!! I gotta me more consistant on the lights!
ugggghhhhh! So close yet so far away... But it was fun and either way it was a good race. I'd rather loose like that. The sad part is that he was a 6 speed and still beat me. (remider for self: practice your reaction times, reaction time, reaction times!)
Oh well, the field wasnt big enough so they cut the payouts in half. At least i won enough to cover my entry fee food at the Olive Garden with some of the guys.
Maybe next time...

I'm still in the learning curve for the red car. I got the tree down but suck on the top end. I went out first round on Sunday at the Grove. Gave another away by breaking out. I had way toooooo much stripe. I waited for the 1000' mark before I tapped the brakes, took off .03 and still broke out bigtime by .07. 14.992 on a 15.09 dial. And yea I had a .009 vs .070 light. I'm not sandbagging, the car just goes faster in worst air. I went 15.004 in the timetrial, DA went up 700', an air killing jet car went down just before my elinination, plus a 20mph headwind. I have to remember when everyone diales up I have to dial down. That is up to a point. The car will go the other way in round 3 or 4. Just have to guess when.
Re: gm efi race series aug.28 @e-town raceway
Jim its hard to keep swaping cars thru the year and be consistant. I dont care how good you are, put in an unfamiliar car and its going to take some time to get it right.
But Ive been in the same car for a long time now and I still havent gotten the lights down. I'm a little off because my tach is gone. When the MSD took a dump I had to start using the stock tach again... and its not fun.

Brian, it comes down to just plain seat time. I'm getting plenty of that in the red car. I won't have the teal car back until the '05 season. I have 2 more points races at the Grove then fun time after that. RP- Street War 9-11, EFI4 10-23, SLP Day 10-9, US MUSCLE4 11-13, Imports vs USA 11-14, F-body vs Mustang 10-30, and Trophy Marathons. AR- Pontiac Day 9-12 and brackets on 10-2 when all the heavy hitters will be at the Division 1 race. Give me a yell if your going to any of these.
Re: gm efi race series aug.28 @e-town raceway
Jim there are several of those that i want to go to. I just have to sit down and figure out which ones i will be able to go to. I'll let you know which ones.
As for tonight I'm heading to Atco to test out that 68 Ford with a 636cid V8 (3208)Cat in it. Propane and nitrous on top of 38 psi should be intresting in a 5800 lb truck with drum brakes on all 4 corners
