Re: Atco Racer's Meeting Sunday 2/10
If my fiancee lets me go.
Actually I'm undecided to go or not. I'm only going to make 9 races this season. I already sent in my point money for heavy. Not going for points, just the bonus money.
That is unless I do exceptionally well in race 1 and 2. If you deside to go let me know. I can meet you at your house.

Re: Atco Racer's Meeting Sunday 2/10
I just printed out the points form... I dont think I am going. I dont want to miss the 500 again
. I am in the same boat as Jim. I know I am not going to be ready for the first few races so I am just siging up for the bonus money. My car is in pieces right now and just not enough time to get it back together for the first race, or the 2nd, or 3rd... lol
Did either of you hear this rumor again about the track being sold? A girl at my work was talking about it and I told her that I knew nothing about it. Its probably the same rumor that rolls around from E-town every year.

Re: Atco Racer's Meeting Sunday 2/10
Jacki: Yeah on the D-500. It'll be nice now that the basement is truly finished and with surround sound.
Jim: Congrats, man!
Brian: I got a big thing of glue.
Atco: anybody thinking of renting the track for the day again like we did last year? That was cool!

Re: Atco Racer's Meeting Sunday 2/10
I think that I'm also not going. Need to finish my list before I'm gone for the racing season. Not too many weekends left
I hope to get in at least one T&T before opening day. NO MORE SNOW

Re: Atco Racer's Meeting Sunday 2/10
First of all - I just noticed that I have Sunday 2/10 in the title... duh.
Anyway, I ended up going to the meeting with my dad after all. There really isn't anything much changing this year.
Super Pro is adding a "bounty hunter" award. The person who takes out last week's winner gets a $25 bonus.
The deep stagers were complaining again about not being able to deep stage in Super Pro. Joe said he would think about it but they wouldn't let it go so Joe decided he didn't need to think about it - NO DEEP STAGING IN SUPER PRO. Why is that such a difficult concept. Heavy is NO ELECTRONICS, why can't Super be NO DEEP STAGING??? You don't hear the Super guys whinning about how they can't run their delay box and trans brake in Heavy, do you?? Ugh. This annoys the heck out of me.
Anyway, that's about it. Entry fees are:
Super Pro = $65
Heavy = $50
Street = $35
Points member payouts are as follows:
Super Pro winner: $2,000
R/U: $800
Semi: $350
6th Round: $240
5th Round: $180
4th Round: $120
3rd Round: $60
Heavy winner: $1,250
R/U: $400
Semi: $200
5th Round: $135
4th Round: $90
3rd Round: $45
Street winner: $350
R/U: $150
Round money $30 - starting w/ 3rd round loser
Cars going to bracket finals are as follows:
19 Super Pro
19 Heavy
7 Street
5 Motorcycles
You will also be required to pay $10 and register any auxilary pit vehicle. Pit vehicles have become a problem; especially with kids. The $10 will get you a sticker that will be valid at ALL NHRA sanctioned tracks. It also makes the vehicle owner responsible for any bodily injury, death or property damage caused by ANY person driving that pit vehicle.
I think that about sums it up.

Re: Atco Racer's Meeting Sunday 2/10
What is considered a "pit vehicle"? If I tow my car in is my truck/trailer going to cost me $10 because its in the pit area? Or is a pit vehicle a golf cart/moped?
I dont see why deep staging isnt allowed either... its not giving anyone an advantage over another by going deep.

It's really a preference. Some guys who run delay boxes will flinch when the pre-stage bulbs go out because they're waiting for the top yellow. Any change in lights can distract a box driver. The reason Super Pro was created was to allow electronics. Super Pro cars are not allowed to run in Heavy with their electronics, so why should Heavy drivers be able to deep stage in Super? It screws with the electronics. No one is saying they can't footbrake and shallow stage in Super - just not go deep.
And, no one is saying they can't deep stage in Heavy. It's just Super Pro that they cannot. Also, this has been a rule for a few years now. These guys are whinning now because Joe made the decision to eliminate it from the big money races. The decision is his to make. It's a business decision. When 100 racers are against it and 2 are for it, what would you do if it were your track?
I say, such is life. Adjust and move on.

Re: Atco Racer's Meeting Sunday 2/10
I figured it was for golf cars and what bot but I just wanted to make sure
I didnt realize that it was a distraction to the other driver when using electronics. I've never done anything other than footbrake. I will be going deep this year too
That is if I ever get the car done.
I dropped the trans off to Frank and he called me tonight. Sounds like 2nd gear was on its way out and probably would have only lasted a few races. Glad I decided to beef it up now before failure. I cant wait to get it back in with the new re-stalled ST4000 Yank!!
BTW, I fixed your title for ya...
