Post ATCO last night

Well, it just was NOT the night to race....HeavychevySS was there along with myself. Keeping tabs on the weather conditions is no longer an issue....ATCO has started putting the CURRENT TEMPERATURE and RELATIVE HUMIDITY on the timeslips!!!!!!! I did'nt notice this until this morning, but what an awesome move!!!!

On a side note, with the new chip and 160 t-stat, I could only muster a 13.507 @ 103.67, but my 60's were great! 2.01, 2.03, and 2.02 respectively, on SZ50's! Oh, and there was a BLOWN (procharger) 02 Cobra there, I saw a best of 13.12@111. I talked to the guy and he just can't drive it and admitted that. Funny. There were two LS1's that were mostly stock too, and the best I saw for both was a 13.9x@103. Just not a good night. My last and best run at almost 11:00 last night, the wx conditions were 78 temp and 88 hum. SUCK!! I hate NJ weather. Anyone going out on Friday?

Best time: 13.492 Best mph: 104.42 Best 60': 2.057

Well, it was soooooo HOT yesterday !!!
I arrived at the track at 4:45 PM and waited outside the gates until 5:35 (when they finally opened) and then lined up. I was in the 2nd pair of cars to run and I still didn't get my first run until 6:29 PM !! That sucked! When ever I push the car somewhat hard on the street; the rear tire breaks loose all the time....so I was really careful with my launch on the first run. Not very impressive (for my car and expectations)! 14.29 @ 102.95 w/ 2.75 60ft. Keep in mind; the outside temp was at least 94* and the humidity had to be above 70% !
Then next run was better. I launched harder since I new the track was hooking ALOT better than I expected. 13.90 @ 101.70 w/ 2.42 60ft.
3rd run...I pushed even harder on the launch (don't forget that I only have a stock 2.7:1 pegleg rear!!!) 13.50 @ 103.36 w/ 2.22 60ft.
4th run....13.58 @ 104.10 w/ 2.27 60ft. and the car I went up against was a red T/A LS-1 ( I don't know his mods but Fastbird prob does) and he ran 13.48 @ 103.17 w/ 2.07 60ft.
Pretty cool run.
Overall, I am somewhat happy with the car. I expected more MPH but the weather just played a huge factor. My underhood temps were very HIGH! Once I get that RAMAIR BOX installed; that will solve that problem PLUS I still have to tune the car better (timing, carb, etc.) OH!!!!! By the way, I didn't even use 3rd gear until after I went thru the traps! That's not good. I know I will pick up a full second once the new rear goes in!!! Oh yea, definately.
So I guess a 12.5 N/A in my HEAVY CHEVY isn't too shabby!

And the temp/humid/abso.barom were on the time slips but they didn't start posting the readings until around 8:30 PM.
FYI- the temp was 78* & 88% humid at 11:21 PM !!! WOW.

I can't wait until our next Atco trip ..or maybe Cecil County too.

Nice meeting you Fastbird and good runs. You had very consistent launches and runs.

Later...Heavy

HeavychevySS, It was nice meeting you also. Guys, I can vouch. His car is not only baaaaaaad, but it's gorgeous too. Looks awesome. We need to get some more people out there though. I'm going to give the track a call and see about talking them into posting the temp and humidity on the slips all the time. I love that idea, and it's so condusive to people who try to factor that it.
