Airbag poped????

Ok I was driving home today from work...I was crusing at 55MPH in 6th gear...everything was fine then I heard 3 LOUD pops. My airbag soon deployed...For some reason my DS where the U-joints connect broke...the Ujoint in the front went through the floor board hitting my airbag sensor causing my airbags to pop...has anyone ever heard of this?

thanks
matt

BTW: I was a stock STEEL DS

Dude I have no idea, but I do feel sorry for you. I saw a Toyota truck and a 3rd Gen camaro do the same thing in the same week on the highway. Funny part is the 3rd Gen was trying to race me, So glad I am getting a 1LE soon.

Good Luck!

I ordered a DS loop the night it happended...the inside of the car is SH*T...But I am ok and we can fix the car. I think I am going to unplug that sensor now just incase the car decides to do that to me again...I just had the DS done on tuesday and had the rear fixed from the broken 12 bolt i bought(I'm sure most of you guys read about that) But it seams latley i cant get anythng to go my way...Now I cant even find a dash. If someone is selling 1 please let me know...I am going to put the 93-96 camaro dash in it again.

thanks
matt

Glad to hear you are OK and you got the DS loop. That's a great investment to have. You are lucky, because a DS failing like that can catapult a car onto its roof.

Their not actually sensors, it is the brains of the system. It's put in the center of the car so that in an accident it will be the last thing damaged.
