ive got a 95 camaro z-28.i just put a motor in it.the motor is out of a 96 transam.when i got it all togther and fired it up,it would start and die immeadiatly.i looked at the egr valve and found it was leaking.after tightening up the valve my car started to idle and run ok.i took it for a drive and got about 20 miles when she sputtered and died.towed it to a friends shop and checked the fuel pressure,it was 43lbs.i pulled the coil wires off and noticed the plugs were oily,so i replaced the coil,when i try to get it to run it just stumbles abnd dies...ive checked everything over twice....but it still wont start...any help[ wood be appericated thanks

 

Not 100% on this, but are you using the PCM (computer) from the 96 trans am? I don't know if the harness's will plug into the wrong PCM or not, but just a shot in the dark.

Also, going to have people saying its the opti, good luck.

 

Yeah I think your onto something with the different computers. 95 is obd1 and 96 is obd2. I'm not sure if thats makes a difference but good luck
