Will a 95 tranny work with a 97 engine?

I am going to be in the process of taking out my 95 engine and putting in a beefer 97. Will the 95 tranny work with the new engine? What other parts will I need from my 95 engine to put on the 97 for a successful swap? Thanks.

Should work without a problem. Now if it was a 94, then it'd be a totally different story...

Keep all the sensors/vacuum lines from your 1995. The 1997 has OBD-II and a few more things, including a crank position sensor on the timing cover that you won't have anything wiring to plug to it (no big deal).
