Miles per tank is mostly meaningless because it is impossible to compare between people and cars. Miles per gallon, however, does have meaning.
Not trying to be a smarty, but you just can't compare per tank values. Everyone would have to fill up at the same point on the gauge to compare and we all know how inaccurate the gauges are.

with a 15 gallon tank that would give you right around 15 miles per gallon. nothing wrong with that thats what i got around town when she was stock, I have a heavy foot, and got around 26 miles gallon on the freeway. Now with the stroker and 475 horsies i get 10 in town and 17 on the interstate. it sucks gas is up to $1.87 a gallon

Yea, 230 is pretty normal. Now if you drive it granny shifting and using skip shift like suppose to be and you should get a tad more mpt than that but with this kinda car you dont granny shift alot hehe

My car is getting about the same mileage now, 220-245 miles per tank. I have a cracked passenger side exhaust manifold though, so mine is running rich, I can smell the gas out the exhaust, going to try to JB Weld it here in a few minutes. I had a 96 Z28 completely stock except for a flowmaster muffler and K&N filter and never got worse than 19 mpg on it, so something is causing you to get the bad mileage.

Hwy with my A4 at 60-65 27 mpg so whats the point? My quote was dude saying he NEVER saw less than 19mpg in his 96. and when you say never that means city driving too. not gonna happen in any z28 i ever drove. unless all the streets in his town are downhill.

Thats true, my mpg on my 96 Z28 was between 19-21, only a few times between 18-19, but half my driving was highway to work and the other half was city driving, yes it was a M6. The one time I took that car to the track, had bald tires and couldn't hook and only could pull 75.25 mph on 1/8th at 10.2 (lots of spin). I usually got around 280 miles per tank. Now I get about 235 with my TA.

you have a V8 they ane not known for getting good gas mileage. if you have a 6 speed try shifting at 2500 and skiping gears and when u do this jsut ask yourself why you bought a V8

Geez guys i have always gotten poor gas mileage in all of my previous cars, I dont think I drive them that hard either. Below are the cars ive owned and the mileage i got-
87 z28 (Lg4)- 10 mpg city
95 tahoe 2d4 (350 tbi)- 12 mpg city
85 iroc (lb9)- 12 mpg city
94 z28 (lt1)- 13 mpg city 170 mpt

The 94 has 118k on it and im guessing almost everything is stock, could it be a combination of things causing the poor mileage? I've had it for two weeks and am slowly getting everything replaced. The car is very very quick!
