Where's the leak?

My 94 Z-28 is leaking freon, is there any certain spot on these cars that is known to leak? It will hold for a couple days then it will be completely dry.

how do u know its completely dry, how much do u have to put in>?

i had a leak in the hose going into the heater core or whatever its called

it was spraying my drive belt... it was a good size leak

just have the car on, and check under the hood after it gets up to temperature, u should see it...

if theres nothing on the ground it could be goin into ur oil...
in which case u have a blown head gasket

Dude, he's talking about a freon leak, not an oil leak.

Anyways, you can check out the auto parts store and they should carry some die that you can put in the system. I'm not sure if you can see it with naked eyes or if it requires a black light. But that should help you to identify a leak. Otherwise, take it to someone if you are losing it that quick.

Antifreeze

I put my car up on jackstands the other day and i noticed that there a green liquid underneath my car, but I had had my a/c die tested and there is also a similar color green on the cap to to metal tube that runs freon through it. Isn't freon a gas?

When you put "freon" in your a/c system, you are putting a mixture of freon and oil in your system. So, when you are die testing your system, it is the oil that is colored for viewing (usually green).

ok so then its possible that its the freon/oil combination that I'm seeing because I already know that I have a leak in my A/C system. Thats a releif.

There use to be a dye you could buy, but now you have to buy a kit that uses a dye and an ultra violet light to find the leak. I heard it cost around $80 . Just trying to avoid buying that kit.
