When to clean filters?

Just wondering how long you guys are going before changing the filters on your SLP CAI. I bought my CAI new about ~10-11 months ago, and they haven't been cleaned since (9-10k miles). When do you recommend I clean them? Also, it's been 6 months since I took off my throttle body and MAF sensor for a cleaning, when should I clean them?

Thanks for reading,
-Matt

If its a K&N, do not clean it too frequently. It needs a light coating of dust to bring the filter efficiency up. K&N recommends a 50,000 mile cleaning interval - adjusted for driving environment. They also recommend that you discard the filter after cleaning it 25 times.

More than likely. Most CAI manufacturers use K&N. I guess it cuts down on their R&D department.

Thanks....so 50,000 miles, I should probably be worrying more about an engine rebuild from now until then instead of cleaning my filters

Shouldn't need a build with 50K,unless it has been rode very hard and put up wet (horse story)Unless you just want to go faster.
Clean the filter when it has crud packed to it and you can't see through it.DO NOT blow out with air.Wash, rinse and dry--reoil.
