Whats going on with my engine?
 

At WOT after 5000 rpm (Auto Trans) the car seems to fall flat on its face and just slowly pulls up until it shifts. The Fuel pressure checked out OK (44ish PSI at wot steady). Any ideas? It didnt feel like a miss either, just very very weak.

Check injector fuses, check for plug arcing. Might be time for new plugs/wires.

Injector fuses? Where are those and what do they cause the injectors to do :) The Wires should be OK, they're brand new accells. The plugs were done about 20k ago (platinums)... think they might be already dead?

Each bank of injectors has a fuse in the fuse box. If its tripped, it will cause them to well... not work right. The plugs very well could be dead, I had a set of platinums go south on my after 5k miles. I only use coppers now. IF they're brand new wires, it sounds like you may have burned one or two. Double check them all.

Well wires looked 100% ok. None of them looked burnt or were close to the exhaust pipes. Fuses for the injectors were both also ok.

I'm hoping its my plugs but an worried it might also be my opti. The dying Opti symptoms usualy refer to a Low and/or high rpm "miss", or the engine breaking up at certain speeds. Which I't doesnt feel like.. It still like it has no power but i wouldnt quite say it feels like a miss... Anyone have any other hunches? If not i'll probably get the plugs done again.

Replace the coil, it's cheap. Then move onto the opti

Yea doing the coil now ;) I replaced it not long ago with a new coil troubleshooting another problem. Turned out the coil was ok. So i guess i can throw the old one back in and see if its any different.

Well threw in my old coil and so far it seems ok doing the same runs i did with the other coil!
I'm going to be doing some more driving tonight so hopefully I can confirm. Sux i got this crappy new coil that barely works :/ It was lightly arcing at night (occasionally flashes). So I'm pretty sure the coils the prob. Thanks for your help spinner :)

Aftermarket coils seem to be hit and miss. My MSD blaster seems to be doing ok

Did some more driving around. Car runs great now at high rpm. She starts to break up a bit after 100mph but still steadily acellerates, not anything as bad as before... I think its my stock opti (on my almost 200k km car).
